YoshL's Tournament of Mediocrity (One Division Tournament!)

This will be a very unique tournament, in that there is Only one division. How...? It took a little bit of thinking to figure out just how to make something like this work.

To make a one division tournament viable, there has to be a way for lower level players to compete with upper level players. Harkening back to other competition level games, it comes down to having some sort of strategy and luck. FFR isn't really meant to be strategized: you just hit arrows properly and win.

SO. The idea here, is to, out of all the players in the tournament...and more, have the most average score in the round.

There will be 3 songs per round, a "Main Event", a "Side Show", and a "Fudge".
The Main Event will be most likely a high level song, which will account for most of the skew in score. The less skilled players have the chance to drag the average score down with this song. The Side Show will be a much easier song for the purpose of making significant, but managable changes to your average score. The final song, the Fudge, will be a low notecount song that allows you to fine tune your final score.

The total RAW SCORE of all 3 songs in the round will be added together to get your final average score. At the end of the round, half (yes, half) of the people who are furthest from the average score for the round will be Eliminated.

HOWEVER! Once you're eliminated, the fun doesn't stop there! In each subsequent round, you are able to, and even encouraged to send in more scores! Even if you're eliminated, you can send in scores and fudge the average to your liking

1. Do not cheat. Simple. Submit real scores. Easy stuff.

2. Be respectful to your fellow competitors. I reserve the right to remove anyone from the tournament at any time for disorderly conduct/insults/dumb arguments/etc.

3. Rounds will last for five (5) days each. If you miss the deadline, your score will not factor into the average, and you will be eliminated. Of course, under extraordinary circumstances, something can be worked out. (PM ME PLEASE IF THATS THE CASE DO NOT POST IT IN THE THREAD)

4. Feel free to submit your scores multiple times. I will keep track of them in a google doc format.

5. Submissions should be in screenshot form. Not in a video. Not in a replay Screenshot it.

Mac users:
- Command + Shift + 3: Takes a screenshot of the entire screen, and saves the image to your desktop. From there, you can upload it to a site like imgur.com and crop it if necessary.

Windows users::
- Press the print screen button. From there, open Paint (or another image editing program) and paste your image in Paint. If you'd like, you can resize it within Paint at this time. From there, you can upload it to a site like imgur.com and crop it (if you haven't done so).

SCREENSHOTS SHOULD INCLUDE:
- The score being submitted
- Server timestamp
- If you are using a standalone, you will include your username located on the top right corner of FFR's window in your screenshot.


An example of an acceptable screeenshot:



- includes the username, and timestamp. Since this is being played on the custom engine, we will need a timestamp included on your screenshots. There are NO exceptions to this rule.

For Each Score you submit, you will get a credit prize! This is to encourage the fudging the average even after you're eliminated!

Credit prizes will be determined after sign ups end (% of pot)

Yes! You're allowed to submit scores at any time, even ones lower than your previous scores. This is to encourage a bit of strategizing in terms of submitting scores. However, because of this, I'll have to strictly enforce deadlines.




Rates are allowed unless it puts your score under 0.

Your scores must be complete playthroughs of a song

Your obtained scores must be after the round start.
You are not allowed to submit a score that you have already submitted.

If it follows those rules, you're fine
