    I need some light conversation/reassurance.

    Me and my daughter were evacuated from our home last night.

    Southern Alberta in Canada is undergoing a lot of destruction from nature right now. There is flash flooding across the province and my city is next in the line of fire. They've been working around the clock to deal with the emergency and unfortunately I was a part of the danger zone.

    My entire neighborhood has been evacuated. I live in the North Flats in Medicine Hat right now. I'm a few blocks from the riverstream and I only just moved into that place in April. I'm moving to Edmonton not even a month from now, and there's a possibility I'll be moving with a lot less. I had to move as much stuff to the upper floor as I could, I have THOUSANDS of dollars in retro/modern gaming equipment, and a cat I had to leave behind.

    I just really need a distraction right now. I might not go back to much of a home, and as I said I am moving to Edmonton August 1st. So close to leaving this place and we get hit by insane flooding.

    Post some jokes, some funny pictures of cats, anything. I miss my kitty.

      If you want to chat you can always contact me. I also live in Southern Alberta, except a bit farther north west of you in Calgary. Some evacuation areas are being lifted here and things are slowly settling. The province will be helping out people and you shouldn't worry about any financial problems.

      If I could fix my phone I would be open to text messages considering you're in the same area code, but that dang thing hasn't been working for ages.

                  That was beautiful. Thank you! Hahaha. And yeah, Calgary got hit way worse than we will be getting hit but I'm in such a low place we're getting washed out one way or another. I feel bad for Calgarians hit by this, I've had a few friends over there evacuated. They're lifting evacs in some places which makes me happy. At least some people are making it home, but over 100,000 people were evacuated. We had 10,000 evac'd.

                                          As a fellow cat owner and a survivor of the Midwest floods of 1993 (and the occasional backup of sewage in the basement), let me tell you that you're going to be all right. You might lose some of your collection, but your local government is doing everything they can to minimize loss of life and property in this natural disaster.

                                          At least you Canadians don't drag your feet about everything like our FEMA.

                                                          Knowing cats, I'm sure she'll just hiss at the water and it'll go away. Besides, if the cat got wet, the water would be the only one to deal with that and I don't think it has the balls to do so.
