Allow us to take you all on a ~*~PoKemOn JouRnEy~*~ but with a delightful arrowsmashing twist.

Imagine waking up on the morning of your 10th birthday (I forget how old Ash was, let's just say he was 10, it rly doesn't matter), and you're all excited and shit because it's time to start your Pokemon journey omg :')

You get to travel from town to town with your new Pokemon buddies, fighting all dem gym leaders and collecting all dem badges and feeling all accomplished and what not because each new badge signifies taking one step closer to ultimate Pokemon domination~

WELL HEY GUESS WHAT, YOU GET TO DO JUST THAT IN THIS TOURNEY #wow! #whoa!

Each round, you're gonna be up against a new gym leader. That's right, you won't be competing directly against other people in your division, but rather, you'll need to complete a combination of requirements that will allow you to progress to the next gym.

There really isn't a better way to describe this than with an example:

Let's say our buddy Jesse is the first round gym leader. The Pokemon he'll have in ~*~The bAttLe~*~ will be listed below.
Jesse's a scrub so let's give him a scrubby team (jk ily bro)


Each round, we'll provide you with opportunities to catch Pokemon in the surrounding area. There will most likely be anywhere between 6-10 Pokemon hanging around. To capture pokemon, you'll have to meet the requirements listed. Capture criteria for beating the gym leader will be listed. For example:


Here's where FFR comes in lol. Requirements for capture will involve playing FFR and completing certain tasks.

Let's say there are six pokemon lurking about during the first round, a Bulbasaur (Grass type), a Charmander (Fire type), a Squirtle (Water type), a Weedle (Bug type), a Pidgey (Flying type), and a Mankey (Fighting type)

Pokemon you'll need to end the fight quickly (Charmander and Mankey) will have slightly stricter capture requirements than the others.

Capture requirements for each pokemon will vary from division to division. For example:

To capture Charmander:
D1 - BF or better Alpha Helix
D2 - BF or better Cash Cow
D3 - BF or better Destiny
D4 - BF or better Animus Intorqueo No. 1
D5 - BF or better Going on Spring Wind
D6 - BF or better Document 13B

Yes, this is a six division tournament

Not all capture requirements will be strictly PA based. Some anti-skill may be involved, and hell, some might not even have anything to do with FFR (o:

If you meet the requirements to capture enough pokemon to defeat the gym leader, congrats! You get the badge and make it to the next gym! To the others, sadly your Pokemon journey ends here (lol owned)

There will be a total of eight gym leaders plus the infamous Elite Four. Yes, a potential 12 rounds if you guys make it that far

Winners will be the players who make it furthest in their division (this is gonna get pretty tough eventually). In the event that multiple players defeat the Elite 4 within their division, you'll have to face off against each other to determine who's the ultimate Pokemon Champion

The vast majority of songs used for this tourney will use songs found on the FFR Engine, but there may be a few ~*~BonUs~*~ rounds using songs found on a separate engine. But don't worry about dat shit for now, we'll let you know (o:

To defeat Colt, you must either:
a) have two Level 12+ Grass/Electric Type Pokemon
b) have one Level 12+ Grass/Electric Type Pokemon and two Level 12+ non-Grass/Electric Type Pokemon
c) have four Level 12+ Pokemon

D1, D2 – Pass Zodiac with less than 9,000 raw score
D3, D4 – Pass Cutting Circles with less than 17,000 raw score
D5, D6 – Pass Club with less than 7,500 raw score

(Each rare candy earned can be used to raise a level of any Pokemon you’ve caught thus far)
D1 – Get a clean SDG on Thinking Different (One rare candy for 9-0-0-0, one additional rare candy for every good shaved off, for a maximum of 10 rare candies for AAA, same rule applies for every division)
D2 – Get a clean SDG on Seven
D3 – Get a clean SDG on Over the Rave

You should try and capture as many Pokemon as you can each round, you never know if they'll be useful in future rounds~

1. NO CHEATING. Do not sign up with an alternate account and hope that you will get away with it. If we have a reason to believe that you are not using your main account, we will ask you. Be honest with us.

2. Be respectful to all other competitors in the tournament. Arguments will not be tolerated and are grounds for removal from the tournament. This includes flaming step artists about their charts.

3. Rounds will be four (4) days long. If you fail to submit for any round of the tournament, you will be removed. In the case of an unexpected event, tell us. We will not bite if you have to take a leave of some sort.

4. Submissions should be in screenshot form. If you take a video of a run, be sure to grab the screenshot, or we will not accept it.

Mac users:
- Command + Shift + 3: Takes a screenshot of the entire screen, and saves the image to your desktop. From there, you can upload it to a site like imgur.com and crop it if necessary.

Windows users:
- Press the print screen button. From there, open Paint (or another image editing program) and paste your image in Paint. If you'd like, you can resize it within Paint at this time. From there, you can upload it to a site like imgur.com and crop it (if you haven't done so).

SCREENSHOTS SHOULD INCLUDE:
- The score being submitted
- Server timestamp
- If you are using a standalone, you will include your username located on the top right corner of FFR's window in your screenshot.

An example of an acceptable screenshot:


- includes the username, and timestamp. Since this is being played on the custom engine, we will need a timestamp included on your screenshots. There are NO exceptions to this rule.
