Blanket permission for OfficialAz3, a BMS artist, according to their Newgrounds page: "Usage of songs for games similar to GD/osu! (rhythm/music based games) are allowed and welcomed to use the track for charting purposes, as long as attribution/crediting is written."

For hololive, it should be added that the songs listed at the bottom of the Derivative Works Guidelines cannot be stepped. (This does not clash with any of the submissions in the FFR batches so far.)

For Frums, the link to this spreadsheet should be attached instead, which contains up-to-date information maintained by Frums themselves.

Blanket perms from the aptly named Key After Key, best known for making music for some Roblox projects among others. Went somewhat viral recently with 3 songs getting millions of YT views in ~1 month. Stuff is pretty steppable. Dibs on Debito di Sonno.

Boom Kitty had updated his copyright policy (idk when) which makes all songs be under an All Rights Reserved license, so I don't think Creative Commons applies anymore. He also requests fees for songs getting licensed in video games now. (Well, unless if we were to use only one Level 1 song.)

Current permission & proof stipulates usage of songs flagged as Creative Commons, so even if rules change on their website, songs listed elsewhere under Creative Commons still follow the guidelines of Creative Commons. That includes music & songs quote "listed on their website as "Rights Reserved, Loosely Enforced"", until otherwise changed.

So no, this doesn't 'overwrite' permission, but is a further '2nd option' or alternative to the pre-existing permission provided until they either change songs listed as Creative Commons, change wording on their website to lose the "Loosely Enforced" music, or address us/reach out to us specifically.

Realistically, it's impossible for any 1 person to stay on-top of 1700+ musician artists and permissions especially when a good 400+ of them don't exist anymore on the internet, so typically when there's a change in permission, it's additive unless it calls out pre-existing permissions provided (which some musicians have done <3 you all for that) or ask us to change. In this scenario, if they removed all options for songs in the previous way the permission is made available, then they've done all the changing necessary to swap over to what they have now.

This might get messy with the kind of catalog that he stores (35,000+ options as of this post) and the way mashups are named, so unless the content is from SGFR ( https://sgfr.highquality.rip/ ) then I'd like to rule-add that '(Mashup)' is gonna get put at the end of each title submitted & accepted.

I'd like to mention that I'm part of a label named UNTONE Music, and all music can be used- as long as you have permission from the artist.
In this case, since I'm from the label (I'm known as TFD500), all of my songs may be used in rhythm games. Feel free to pick one that suits FFR best.

hololive Derivative Works Guidelines was updated last August. Apart from updating the list of exceptions, the change is:

For songs by Mori Calliope, Kobo Kanaeru, or Moona Hoshinova, or any song from Blue Journey (a 2023 collab project with EMI Records Japan), search both the JASRAC and NexTone database:



Each entry has listings about whether JASRAC or NexTone manages the copyright for each category of derivative works. I'm honestly not sure where rhythm game charting falls under. I'll update the post if I figure it out. Anyway, if it says O (they manage the copyright), and the publisher is Universal Music Publishing (ユニバーサル・ミュージック・パブリッシング), you have to contact Universal Music Publishing.

(TODO: what if the publisher is someone else...? Just use it?)

This makes permission check significantly more complicated, so at this point maybe the v9 sheet entry should be replaced with a link to this post lol. I'll merge all the relevant information here later.
