                they allow you to purchase/unlock the purchased and secret songs in the actual game of FFR

                they're beyond irrelevant now as you could probably just post in a thread somewhere "HEY CAN SOMEONE GIVE ME THE MINIMUM NUMBER OF CREDITS I NEED TO PLAY PLANET KARMA" and someone would probably give it to you in under an hour

                they're used as prizes in official and unofficial FFR tournaments, usually.
