Re: DAW
Long ago paid an arm and leg for Reason 2.5, which is the software I was first introduced to (well, Reason 2.0) back in high school. Let's say that I have yet to understand the back-side rack feature where you can wire digital hardware to manipulate your sounds...Comment

Re: DAW
What exactly can and can't you do with the trial version of FL? I downloaded it and it seems like there's a lot of stuff that comes with it.

Re: DAW
Not too much AFAIK. (that's useful) One thing is that in the demo, you cannot save your project but you can render it. If you close your project/lose power (like I have once) you will lose all the current work on that song. (which really sucks.)
As for misc things, I do know you can't use any type of input device. (or so says the help docs. Unless you buy it of course...) I also believe extra plugins such as "hardcore?" I forget the name exactly. It doesn't work fully for a song. It disables itself every minute? Otherwise, I guess just extra content?

Re: DAW
I thought the demo FL Studio allows you to save your project but not load it. I guess it's changed.
Other than that, I think the rest is pretty much the same as if you were to get the full version.
I don't know about demo plugins (I don't remember how demo Sytrus limits itself), but I don't think I've heard of anyone that uses Hardcore...Last edited by Sgt. Traveler; 09-11-2013, 09:33 PM.Comment

Re: DAW
maybe FL makes me want to bang my head against a wall because i learned logic and ableton first and well FL is way different
neither of those took more than a week to get started and after 2 in FL nothing was working and i wanted to eat 7 bananas

Re: DAW
I wouldn't say you're wrong. Ableton confuses me a lot and I kinda gave up on it after, like, a few days (I'm pretty impatient).
But different DAWs, different workspaces. Some takes more time to learn than the others.Comment

Re: DAW
My bad, your right. I am thinking of the older version. In the newer one's you can save but not reload. However, in the older versions, you could not save.
As for the hardcore thing, it's part of the mixer my bad. It makes songs really loud/deep/hardcorish sounding.
Yeah, I don't use FLS that much...

Re: DAW
I think mine was the same or... 3.54? or was it?
definitely 3rd one, cause they didn't have audio clips at all at that time. Just the look of it makes me want to hug it.

And no Sytrus, too.
Also, I think REAPER should definitely be added to the competition.Last edited by Vospi; 07-24-2015, 06:41 PM.vospi.com

Re: DAW
I actually came from FL Studio but recently bought a macbook pro so now use Ableton since my bootcamped windows version wasn't working correctly. The switch from FL after using it for 7.5 years to ableton wasn't bad at all. I was expecting it to be much worse.Comment
