Nois-or-e's computer's been out of commission so I collected the postage stuff for him and forwarded it to him. From this point it's a waiting game for him to mail them out.

Has -anyone- received their SessileNomad album? This is ridiculous.

This was a prize offered by official staff, and I still haven't heard a peep about it despite the fact that all parties involved with distributing them have been online in the past month. I personally am starting to get aggravated with this, because I was really looking forward to the album.

what about the stickers to the top 16 in each division? Are those still in existence?

For both the stickers and the SessileNomad albums, nois-or-e has them in his possession. However, he's been out of contact for the past while because his computer is still broken. I'll look into it and see if I can get an ETA for all of you, but like I said before, it's unfortunately going to be a waiting game.

In the mean time, I'm going to see if you guys can get some sort of alternate prize if the stickers and CDs don't end up working out (hoping this doesn't happen, but you never know).

Again, sorry for all the delay, it's out of our control.

I'm going to say this bluntly, and it might sound rude (which certainly isn't my intention), but you're not staff and shouldn't be relaying information when it certainly isn't in your control to do so. I know you linger in the staff forum and staff chat for whatever reason, but until I hear an answer from someone with the proper authorization to give an answer, I'm going to keep bringing this up.

Sprite- was apparently handling the albums and they were supposed to be posted on the 26th of September, but we're looking at a two month discrepancy. I know for a fact that Sprite- was hit by Sandy, but that was considerably later than the date that was promised, and it's even more irritating to see this being shrugged off as "out of our control" when both of them have logged into FFR in the past week. I'm not even talking about the prizes that were promised by users because those are 100% out of staff's control (and more than likely shouldn't have been offered - props to m0de for coming through, though). These are official things that were offered by the host of the tournament and they should be followed through with.

I'm sorry, but not receiving full prizes after two months is insane. There's absolutely no excuse for it and I'm going to continue to push it until the situation is resolved. I'm not even looking for a favorable response -- all I'm looking for is the answer to whether or not we're getting the rest of what we were told, and why things took so long (or why we're not receiving it), and I'm sure that the other winners would be interested in finding out the same thing.

Just wondering..... how do i sign up for a tournament when a new one starts? because ive been wanting to compete in the tournament but i dont have any clue how to sign up XD

When an official tournament is announced, there is a sign-up page. The link to the sign-up page will be posted when the tournament is announced on the front page.

Posting again.

The 7th Official Tournament concluded on September 2nd and while tokens have been handed out, physical prizes like the SessileNomad albums, stickers, and other user-promised prizes were never given out. In addition to this, it was said that the postage would be taken care of by Sprite- on the 26th of September, and he is no longer available due to other priorities.

It has been over three months since the promise of prizes with constant updates requested, but said updates were never received. With that being said, I am removing the sticky on this thread. It can be assumed that the prizes won't be handed out at this point.

I wouldn't doubt it.

At this point, there's probably not going to be user prizes allowed anymore unless they can be provided at the end of the tournament.

That's honestly a real shame, SessileNomad albums would've been a really baller first place prize.

Ever noticed how stuff is promised, physical prize wise that is at least, not delivered and the users who promised these randomly disappear to not be seen again?
Makes me wonder why they promise prizes even though they can't deliver in the first place... it's bullshitting the entire userbase, basically.
(some people have always delivered the promised physical goodies, and major props to the guys who do so. they are obviously not part of this generalization.)

I agree that we should just stop, sadly, prizes like this, that wont be delivered, because tournament players will build up false hopes, just to have them crushed down -- And that's a shame.
I am for just delivering credits and tokens and other various on-site goodies that have always been delivered and in a speedy manner.

PS: This is not to be ungrateful, either, but if you offer a prize, you better deliver. If we have physical goodies offered again we should be able to legally bind these people to their word.
Don't promise shit you can't deliver, basically. (unless there is some MAJOR issue preventing you from doing so but most people will use flimsy excuses to get out of doing their payout.)

Also, I would like to take the opportunity to give thanks to m0de for at least giving the winner in each division the prizes he promised -- he spent $180 for the tournament, and that I am thankful for.

Most definitely. Completely great counter-example to my argument.
I just wish we had more people like m0de in these forums -- I remember him having financial troubles and HE STILL DELIVERED. What a guy.
