lol, well this bill was passed by just the senate (93-7 vote though, what the actual f**k), so we'll see what happens in the house.

i'm leaving if it does pass though.

Just read through the entire 21 page table of contents by heading, and there is not a single solitary thing in that bill that says anything like what your article is claiming.

It's pretty much entirely a budget and project appropriations bill identical in style and content to the same bill for 2011, 2010, 2009, 2008 and so on back.

The absolute closest anything in there comes to being what that article is talking about, is in a section regarding Guantanamo Bay, that basically says that people arrested during the course of hostilities can be detained there, without making a specific exception for "But not American Citizens" where they -do- make that exception in regards to some other stuff in the bill.

Which means, at worst, that during something actually defined as military hostilities, there's the -possibility- of a legal backing for the military choosing to detain you there instead of in any of the many military prisons located inside the US. Oh dear, the world is ending.

the passage has been modified so U.S. citizens are exempt from this.

On another note I'd probably consider Canada if things got bad enough. But they say pop..

This same bill is passed every year. It essentially assigns the Navy money for ships, the Army money for rifles, ect. Common sense should tell you NONE OF OUR RIGHTS ARE BEING VIOLATED.

If there were secret prisons and arrests, ect. America would revolt, ending very badly for the government.
