This is possibly the most horrid attitude when it comes to music.

Not listening to something because a lot of people listen it is worse than listening to
something because a lot of people listen to it.

If you don't listen to it because you don't like the sound, then the word "mainstream" has nothing to do with it.

I think Panic At The Disco is pretty good. Has a good sound with a good singer and their songs are quit catchy.
The only thing thats a bit annoying is the over use of really long, trying to be phillosophical type, song names. But hey, to each his own.

It's just that mainstream music has a tendency to suck. That's all.

Sir Thomas, a lot of their song names come from Chuck Palhanuik albums, as do some of their lyrics. Time To Dance was a lyrical retelling of the main points of Invisible Monsters, which is a popular novel. They're not striving for depth, they're stealing other people's depth. Which is good and well - I still like them.

Being said, their new album, besides reeking of the Beatles, is highly original and I like it very much.

Yeah, I've been listening to the new album lately, and it's weird.

Not the music is weird, but... the way it makes me feel about it. After only hearing the songs once, they all seem vaguely familiar, almost like I heard them a very long time ago.

And the music is good too. Only thing is, it's a very different style, so I'll probably only feel up to listening to it when I feel like listening to that in particular. This is a bit of a problem for me, because when I play music, I try to play whole discographies if possible, and following A Fever You Can't Sweat Out with Pretty.Odd just won't feel right. I guess what I'm trying to say is that it's a good stand alone album, but it doesn't flow with the first one (which, incidentally is more in line with what I typically feel like listening to).

After giving it an open-minded listen, I don't hate it. There's only a few songs I like, but the rest aren't really bad.
