I can't remember. There is a bit in the anime when some people are in the elevator. Just doing nothing. It's just them in the elevator for like 5 minutes. Nothing happens, like nothing. Same with the other scene where some kids holding this other dude with his EVA. Just that picture for ages. Then you see his head fall into the water or something.

I say that to Jewpin becuase when I saw the anime for the scond time and I was at that part, we all skined up before the the scene was over. It was legendary.

Your explanation is kind of mixed up but I understand what you mean. You are talking about the scene in which Shinji is battling the 17th angel, who is also the fifth child Kaworu. Earlier in the series we see that Shinji is really open around Kaworu (when usually he's not), and they quickly become friends. Kaworu, upon finding Lilith in Terminal dogma, realizes that Humans were born from Lilith, and decided to sacrifice himself and let mankind live...hence the 5+ minute long scene where Kaworu is in the hand of EVA01. I think you'd hesitate a while before killing your best friend, too.

The elevator scene that I think you are talking about is where Rei and Asuka are riding in the same elevator but they don't even look at each other. It's a significant scene in that is shows you how distant they are from each other and further emphasizes Asuka's dislike for Rei.

What's the point of watching anime if you don't care enough to let it make you think? :/ I don't mean any offense, but if you only like it for mindless entertainment, you might as well just watch Naruto or DBZ or some American show. ^^;

I like it when a show makes me think. If it intrigues me enough to give it a good amount of thought outside of the actual viewing of it, or at least a lot during it, it's worth a lot more to me.

This is also one reason why I prefer following along week-by-week rather than waiting until it's completed to start like some people'd rather... the week-wait after a cliffhanger can be frustrating, but it's that frustration causing a lot of speculation and internal musings that give the show a little extra something that makes it memorable for me.
