What storyline? It was very shallow, my eight year cousin FOLLOWED it and i surprisingly had a reasonable debate about the suppression of emotions via drugs with him...he's too smart for his own good, i swear.

exactly and people say it's a rip off which is sad... cause again it's not the same, it has the same themes but it's just a different interpretation...

look at all the different interpretations of the same themes in sport movies...

It's not that Shallow, if you want Shallow, Watch some old school ASIAN movies.
Or actually watch
TRANSPORTER 1 and 2.

The charachters in that are definately much more shallow.

There was no bullet time effect in Equilibrium.

Matrix has no Gun Kata At all...

The same style of movie? you do realize that Equilibrium's fighting style has nothing to do with matrix. Gun Kata? Bullet Time effect?

Slow Motion doesn't = Bullet Time.

If you mean Slow Motion, that has been used in asian cinema since the beginning of time.

Matrix's Double Berreta is based off of John Woo's movies, the poster is also seeminglessly like John Woo's poster of his first famous movie "A Better Tomorrow"

I have high expectations for Movies i guess, i blame it on the fact i've watched to many anime's with crazy plotlines. Meh, I'll just agree to disagree with you.

I don't mean slow motion, i mean the effect of taking multiple single frame shots around a subject. From what i believe, there was some used to an effect in this movie.

I watch anime too, but anime is completely different then live action movies.
Live Action movies don't have the same style as anime nor do they have the time to make.

Live action is also much harder to do then anime.

good for you, but again Equilibrium is not a Matrix rip off.
it is nothing like the matrix except for the clothes.

Given also the Matrix had tons of inspiration from asian and western movies...
it's a mixture of tons of other types of movies into one.

I know Equilibirum is not a rip off from the matrix, HENCE i didn't say that.
Personally, for me, the plot didn't grip me, the action was nice and that's about it.

anyways, good for you the plot didn't grip you, but the movie is nothing like the matrix except for the clothes, end of story.
anybody who says that seriously needs to look deeper into the action genre.

Next thing you'll see... Quentin Tarantino invented the blood splatter style of samurai flicks...
