I fell asleep, literally. I've never seen a more boring movie. It looked cool, it was made well but it bored me and I got confused at one point. My girlfriend and her friend loved it though, but that's just their bad taste :P

I just got back from watching it.
Brought my 3 friends.

I was realy bored, but i looked really awesome.

I was pretty confused somewhere at the end, not sure where.
One of my friends started crying o.o

I was just about to leave at the middle and go sneak in 'The Unfinished Life'

I swear.

I laughed when Mal called it a "new" type of animation. That is just ignorant.

Stop motion has been around since the 30s. King Kong, anyone?

Anyway, this movie is wonderful. The animation is the most amazing thing I've ever seen.

How they did it:
1. Make small figurines of characters
2. Take a picture of them
3. Move them an incredibly small amount of space
4. Take another picture
5. Repeat forever
6. Stick all the pictures together so they look like they're moving

I believe they made at most a few seconds per day of film. You must appreciate this movie for doing that, if nothing else. Not to mention that this is lightyears ahead of anything else ever done with stop motion (including Nightmare Before Christmas). It's mind boggling. This is also why it is so short; making it any longer would have been incredibly taxing. Also, the sheer fluidity of it all is just amazing. If you've seen King Kong, you know how primitive stop motion was back then. It looked really jerky. This is the exact same technique used all the way back then, only with computer-aided camera work, as the shots would be impossible otherwise.

Oh, if you look carefully, you can notice that the piano at the beginning says "Harryhausen" on it. Great tribute.

I enjoyed the movie itself as well. All of Tim Burton's work is great. It was rather simple, but it didn't need to be anything more.

If you don't appreciate the animation, there's something wrong with you.

He's right..they make claymation movies that way too. I heard somewhere that the Wallace and Gromit movie thats coming out (if it didnt come out already?) took them like 4 years to make, they started back in '01.

Yes, but at least Wallace and Gromit will be enjoyable.

It may not be as pretty, but at least it has heart.

I saw the preview for that...it didn't appeal to me. Oh well, if there's a lot of really GREAT reviews on it, maybe i'll check it out...otherwise I think i'll pass.

I saw it last week. It looks amazing; really sets a good atmosphere in the way everything is done, and make fun of me all you want, but that musical number with the skeletons kicked major ass. However, if you're looking for a well-written plot with lifelike characters and drama, stay the hell away. There's really nothing major that hasn't already been said. Although my friend is a huge Tim Burton fan, so my opinion might be a little biased

7/10 from me.
