Your personal opinion of anime.

I reject anime for the same reason I never read the Harry Potter books... I don't know, it just seemed like I didn't want to add it to my geek repertoire. That and I hate their mouths and eyes.

I admit. I used to be a huge fan of anime. Seriously.. I mean.. I think I still am. But, I haven't really watched it much. I've been mostly reading manga. ^^;

I used to think anime sucked and was very very geeky.

But now I really get into some of the better series. I like some anime alot now, but most of it is crap. I have to sift through so much retarded nonsense untill I find something good, but when I do it's gold.

I like anme and have since 5th grade. It's just a hobby for me really.
Like hacky-sackor sports for some people. me and some of my friends
compare series that we've seen to other animes and such, and talk about
new anime show and manga and stuff. Some people don't like it and it
don't say that they're wrong, I just say that there is quite a few good
anime out there. But there are the people that take anime a little too seriously.
Oh well, some people do the same for other stuff, like sports and computers
and whatnot.

LOL, Kilga...I've seen a couple simdates that originated from animes, such as Galaxy Angel and Love Hina. (Blame my anime-obsessed brother...he played it, I just made sure he didn't wander into anything inappropriate, seeing as how he's not quite at the age of majority yet.)

Anyhow, yes, anime can be quite generic, at least the sort that makes it overseas. For example, Zatch Bell is just like Pokemon, only the Mimotos use humanspeak. And when the hell are they going to stop cranking out Mega Man cartoons?

One more thing...don't even get me STARTED on Sailor Moon. Just...don't.

From what Sudden has mentioned, he has pretty much only been watching the shows that air on CN, and only read the corresponding manga. Squeek gave you some good examples of great animes, so go and actually pick up some of that stuff. Maybe you should even try some shojo things...I don't count Chobits or Love Hina as shojo, I count it as harem manga, but maybe that kind of anime is your cup of tea.
