i don't really give a heck about being legal
but free drum samples can be very good
creating your own samples with real instruments is always good too

I'd try creating my own samples but I don't have the real instruments to do it :L

Free drum samples are all over the web. I've yet to find *core kicks though, let alone how to make them.

the biggest hassle with overlapping instruments is following a metronome
when there's 3 or more parts it's hell

ps I never liked using FL for some reason - interface didn't really click with me (stuck with ModPlug/Renoise + Cakewalk SONAR)

sibelius is only good if you want to write out musical notation scores and compositions, only allowing analog instrument presets

There are sososo many limits to sibelius, it and FL/ableton/etc are basically nothing alike

Ya know what can be quick is to record your ideas with your voice onto a phone and use that as your skeleton to build over in FL/ableton. just an idea.
