DDR doesn't seem as much of a challenge anymore. Once you try ITG (In The Groove) You'll see the difference. And as far as bar goes, I use it on every song, for PA purposes. It's not considered cheating, otherwise it wouldn't be their now would it? Anyways, that's how I play. Try ITG sometime and see how well you do on that.

no songs on ddr shoud require the bar PERIOD. itg is another story, but there is absolutely no reason to use the bar for any song on dance dance revolution.

Hello. Yes, I agree with you. I hate basic soft mats because they slip or move around to easily really limiting your playing potential which I hate. Do you have any suggested places I could visit on the web to find some good mat deals.

I got mine off of ebay
I built my own home arcade verison.
its much cheaper then buying a whole machine.
i recomend ebay or amazon
but amazon has to many arcade replicas

Hello. Yes, I agree with you. I hate basic soft mats because they slip or move around to easily really limiting your playing potential which I hate. A good foam mat or metal mat would do the trick. I like to show of my skills at my local Game Breakerz which has a DDR Extreme Arcade Machine but it costs 50 cents per play making not every economical. Do you have any suggested places I could visit on the web to find some good mat deals. I like the metal mat most.
It provides the best way to really move my groove they way I like it. I like to walk or run around the mat in a counter clock wise or clock wise direction.
It provides the most flexibility for me to play my best.

Well, thanks for your recommendation. Like I said soft mats are ok if the song is not to fast or complex otherwise I will not be able to play that well.

Cobalt Flux is the way to go for metal pads.

Also, ITG is MUCH harder than DDR, with hands, mines, and 32nd notes, and insane streams you'll never see on DDR, anyone FC'ing a standard song on ITG = SDG'ing a Heavy 8/9 on DDR, if not higher

Also, my best ITG score is 76% on Pandemonium challenge (That was insane, don't know how I pulled it, skill and luck I guess, I had like a 2 liter coke bottle an hour before I played, that might have helped...)

You probably shouldn't be posting your scores here, unless permitted by the op. You can do that in the brag board.


This game isn't really like DDR, but some of your skills might translate over. Personally for me, it didn't transfer at all and I had to work my way up from square one, but you never know. Keep practicing at DDR though, I'm sure you can get good enough that people will have no choice but to call you awesome

Challenge? I think you mean the expert chart. Also a 76 is like heel toeing the whole thing.

ehh, it's not amazing, but it's not bad, it's not even mediocre, but yeah, not amazing, my friend can AAA Paranoia Survivor Max on challenge, so yeah I'm not that special, but compared to "can beat some standard songs", yeah, I'm alright

Also for Pandmonium, whatever the 4th chart is, ITG has 4 charts for everything, and since I play DDR more often I just call the 4th challenge regardless

And to angel dude, about DDR > FFR? I've AAA'd 3 FMO songs, not sure how good that is, but yeah

I was curious what type of soft mat do you use when you play DDR???
I use a generic kind that is alright but it is designed for heavy mode play really. I mean I can work around it but I don't have the same type of control I was would have with a Konami brand mat. I am more a fan of the metal mat.
I seem to play the best on that type of mat the most. Plus it works out better when I prove myself on the metal arcade mat machine. LOL.

Nice to talk to you. You must play FFR online alot. Your ranking seems to be higher than mine by quite a bit. Congratulations. ;0
