When i was a noob(sorta m still) i did all these realy hard songs and by a few days i could read perty fast. Ive been here for 10 days maybe and can do master songs.(still workin on baloon fever)

And do you mean FCing or able to mash till you get to the end with a 10 combo? I have troubles playing master songs, and I've played for over a year (this is new file).The only 2 master songs I can do decently are Delirium and CIA Rave, and only one guru song, Rondo Alla Turca v2. All of those songs I am in the top 1k players of it, but I can't FC it.

Do you realize how long it took me to FC Breaking the Common for the first time? I just did it yesterday, and I've been playing this game for, what, 9 months? >_<

Still working on the following: (you'll notice that most of them have a common theme...long 16th streams)
-Contra-distinction (you would think I could FC a Standard song with note, but...)
-Burnout
-Water Like Pudding (yeah, go ahead, yell at me because I still haven't FCed this)
-Stalled Out and Sushi Bars
-LoZ Bonus Stage
-FF7 Battle (those gallop-jumps and the jacks at the end are just plain retarded, I tell you)

Edit: Finally nailed Metalman yesterday!

Edit again: Managed to pull off the Fett's Vette FC in a multiplayer game. Damn, was I proud of myself right there.

i play a lot of ddr and stepmania i went from light to standard to heavy i went up gradually a lil bit at a time.

themawg...start playing with 2 hands now before you get too used to 1 hand..i played with 1 hand for a while and i sucked a lot, but it was hard to make the switch to too hands. i dont think many other play like this but it's the easiest for me: i put my left middle finger on the left arrow, left pointer finger on the down arrow, right pointer finger on the numpad 8, and my right middle finger on the numpad 6. its logically the most ergonomical way to play for me. i got good really fast with that style, you'll notice the difference instantly. good luck

I used to just play the songs that I could get through, just with a little struggle. Then eventually I could get through it with no problem, so I'd move on. Breaking The Common, located in the dance genre, is a good song to improve your skills with.

Struggle with harder songs. If you just stay with the easier songs and don't try the hard ones, then you'll never get through the hard ones, just the easier ones.

I practiced on Salad for Your Tuesday and Secret Zombie Room... when you first start its a good idea to play easier songs until you're more comfortable with moving onto the next difficulty level.

It all reallt depends on your current skill. The first thing anyone should learn is the position of the arrows. Once you know it by heart, practice on songs that require a little speed, and keep moving up. If you can do the snowman song, you should already know the arrow placement, so start working on faster songs Sorry I can't list any for ye.

You can't FC FF7 Battle? Well I can't either, but I can't FC anything that isn't a noobie song. FF7 Battle will probably be the first decently hard song I will FC. Only 20 something misses and I have only played it about 5 times. It's such an easy song.

Don't do harder ones, all it does is intimidate you. Do ones that you can do, ones that you can get good comboes on for your skill level. Then you are just magically able to do harder ones with more arrows gradually.

the way i did it was play harder stuff until i could adjust to it. its the fastest way to improve speed if you ask me.

Yeah, seriously. Play stuff that's harder for you, those are the songs that are going to make you faster and improve more than just timing. It doesn't make much sense to improve your comboing on easier stuff than "magically" improve on faster stuff. When you play stuff that pushes your limits, it not only increases your speed, but it will improve your comboing and timing on the easier stuff...
