Re: Who's shopping on Black Friday?!?!?!
I'm not doing black friday shopping, despite there being numerous sales even in my canadian town. And it is the first year it seems to actually 'be a thing' where I live.
I actually only heard of 'black friday' a few years ago, and it was a term that I understood to not necessarily mean a good shopping day, but seemed to be used in a negative context, (although I finally put 2 and 2 together for the use of the word 'black' in terms of money, 'back in the black', which is not negative.) It's supposed to be the biggest economic day of the year in the states, right? The day the most money is made or something? I thought that was the origin for the term 'black friday'.
I envision black friday chaos in the states like what happened here during the Tickle me Elmo rush years back, where a 6 foot 300lb walmart worker got trampled with broken bones at 2am or something ridiculous.
