No matter how well Obama does, it's pretty likely the GOP will win this election. It's feel like its a back and forth thing in which people will just turn to whoever is different from the people in power. But really.

The only thing confusing about it, to me, is why so many people are so deluded and ignorant that they would even CONSIDER putting someone into power who is clearly going to butt**** them in return. It's seriously one of the most depressingly hilarious hoaxes ever (almost as depressingly hilarious as the huge fraction of our population that doesn't "believe" in evolution or thinks it's still up for debate).

Something that really confuses me is how people seemingly allowed themselves to vote for Obama based on two criteria: he speaks eloquently and he's black. And to put more salt in the wound, they turn around and call everyone racist when we question the validity of voting for someone because of their ethnic background (ignoring all other qualifications) when I feel it's pretty much "racist" to put all your faith in a person simply because they're black (and thereby excluding any non-black candidates from ever having a chance). I'm hoping I'm wrong on this one, but that's what I was being told by most of the people I asked. It's all about the "hope" and "change" and he's black, that's a huge plus. Scary..

As far as evolution goes, I feel there's a general misconception (or I'm wrong myself) but evolution doesn't serve to explain how life came about, it only serves to explain that X came from Y, where Y was the original species, or something like that. And a lot of people get really defensive and think you're trying to explain that evolution is taking the place of God, when in fact the two don't really have anything to do with each other, but I could wrong on all of that, I don't really do my research on any of that.

In this case, Obama was the better candidate chosen, but for the wrong reasons. Voting for McCain/Palin would have been unimpeachably irresponsible. Obama's not my ideal candidate by a long shot, but as long as we keep crazy, ignorant retards out of office, we start traversing the proper road to recovery.

I'm not going to elaborate much more on the evolution bit because that's not what this thread is about, but evolution is fact. It's not up to opinion, despite what many still think today. There's no "debate." We weren't created. Therefore, anyone who thinks we need a personal God to explain anything is simply ignorant of science and the evidence.

To be honest, I not sure when was the last time we had a good president. Of course Bill Clinton but the one thing that's stuck in my head about him is the impeachment attempts against him.

I have my beliefs on evolution but I'm not gonna argue about it.

@Partisan: I agree with pretty much everything you're saying but there's not much Obama could have done to stop any of this. Previous administrations screwed everything else up for him. Also look up abiogenesis. It explains where life all came from and is proven by experiments creating simple life forms.

Also history dictates Obama won't get back in. Like I. Any case the country is doing bad weather it's his fault or not the public blames the head always. A great example of this is in Canada we had this racist fart of a prime minister Mackenzie King who got booted for RB Bennet who implemented all these great ideas to get us out of the depression but was replaced for King again in the final throws of the it. As a result he was hailed a hero and Bennet was known as a shitty PM. People are generally pretty retarded and short sighted. Obama isn't going to win this, I at least hope the Republicans don't elect that gun slinging Texan.

I think the problem lies within society. They way people think these days honestly pisses me off quite a lot. I'm generally quite a cheery person but if I could have it ~MY WAY~ and cared more than I should to be functional in society I'd probably commit some sort of mass genocide of like 80% of the population for being completely and utterly retarded.

I've heard that from pretty much everybody my age, or people who are voting for the NDP cause "their friend's are" and apparently they're doing the country a great service by voting cause of course I'd rather has somebody vote totally uninformed without spending half a thought on whom. I'd rather those people didn't ****ing vote. I'd be far more pissed off in the states and end up being a domestic terrorist or something killing anybody who told me they'd vote for person 'x' because they'd rather have a beer with them. **** I hate society @_@. I'm not sure if North American society doesn't care about **** all and therefore don't put any thought into ANY of their opinions they feel so entitled to (PROTIP: an uninformed/uneducated "opinion" is an assumption which is what almost everybody claims as an opinion) or if everybody is so batshit retarded, either way I wish they'd smarten up or die. Sorry if I seem really extreme but some people are effected by people's stupidity more than others and being gay around ignorant people (biggest beef is actually with other gays) really makes people's intelligence matter.

Well, if you want something more legitimate to bash him on, bash him on the deregulation of credit default swaps (the Commodity Futures Modernization Act) or for signing the Gramm–Leach–Bliley Act into law (which repealed the Glass-Steagall Act, which was regulation put into effect during the Depression era to stop speculative retardation and help manage risk, which is exactly what we got into again this time around). There was also the Community Reinvestment Act, which put pressure on lending to low-income households.

However, it's pretty clear, IMO, that if Clinton were president during the Bush years instead, a lot of this crap wouldn't have gone down. It's just that Clinton helped provide a framework that was open to later abuse under someone else's watch.

Some blame Daedulus for making the wings, while others blame Icarus for flying too close to the sun. Some even blame the guy who's in charge of dealing with the resulting mess.

This is what I'm talking about. There comes a point where you're honestly not entitled to your opinion, in all seriousness. Evolution is fact, so holding a belief against it is like holding a belief against the fact that our Earth revolves around the sun or that gravity exists. You can hold such beliefs if you want, but such people are either unaware of the evidence... or they're willfully ignorant and/or crazy. Unfortunately, most of our nation is in your boat, which is sad.

Too many people simply make bad choices, and they hold opinions that are at odds with reality. That's a problem, because reality has a tendency to be, well, brutally real.

I agree with the second point. But the first one is what makes it so difficult for me to hold on to my beliefs and whether I should doubt them and start listening for real or not.

Herman Cain for President 2012

He seems like the only intelligent one out there. If you dont believe me, actually listen to a lot of his interviews and note how he has a real response to every question asked, not some circling bullcrap that everyone else pulls, and certainly not personal attacks like every democrat I've seen interview him.

I feel like the economy is the biggest issue right now, and he has tons of experience in that kind of field, so I think that even if he's not perfect in some other fields, we need four years to throw some dirt in the ****hole we dug ourselves.
