Double Jeopardy doesn't actually work the way people think it does.

If they found significant evidence against her they could open a new case in a new court, the point in double jeopardy is that a court can't try to indict you over and over again with the same case, but if new evidence was found it would change that completely.

Sometimes I really hate the "objectivity" of the courts, but ungh. Basically comes down to "better ten guilty go free than to wrongfully imprison one innocent." Needing to prove common sense is a pain sometimes.

That's all fine and well, but they shouldn't have gone for capital murder/death penalty.
