        I have a cube on my desk, I like to keep it unsolved.
        My cousin solved the damn thing in about 30 seconds.
        I got mad, and threw it at him.
        He's only 11.
        In my opinion, they look better when they're unsolved.

        But relative to the topic, grats on letting a colour cube take over your life.
        Just imagine all those things you could've achieved instead.. so many buildings.. so little time..

            With common sense and observation I learned how to solve one within a week. Now I can do a 3x3 in 10 minutes or less. lol

                            This actually kind of amazes me. I can solve a cube, but there is no way I'd EVER be able to figure out how to do it on my own. Even if I spent 26 years, I'd just end up using the algorithms I always use

                                    it took me a few years to solve mine. unfortunately, i forgot how to solve it, so now its sitting on my desk, everything solved but the bottom part.

                                        I have never tried to solve a Rubik's cube and after reading that I probably never will seeing how addicting it could become.

                                                I honestly think this is a hoax because nobody could spend that much time on a Rubik's Cube (as in, enough to create physical problems) without gaining a fundamental concept of how to solve it. He would have to be extremely dense, and maybe I just give people too much credit but I honestly don't think someone could be that dumb (and actually attempt something like that for 26 years).

                                                    Your suggesting that it is entirely possible to turn it randomly and eventually solve it within a matter of a week, or an hour for that matter. Of course, it is possible that he could solve it by turning it randomly for however long, but the chances of solving it by randomly turning it for 26 years is highly negligible. It is pretty much 'shuffling' the cube for 26 years.

                                                        There should be more details as to what really happened.
