Canadian Thanksgiving was actually an event the church made based on the theme of being thankful of what God has given us. I had mine yesterday but honestly I hate it because it just means I have to go up to the cottage with no internet and clean the kitchen for two hours. I <3 my basement.

I love my solitary room which has my laptop and internet. It's all I need to survive.
I DO go to the kitchen for food once in a while
But Thanksgiving for me was fun, only because I got my whole family and guests into Rock Band 2

If you move you you better buy a hotplate and some rice. That's what I'm doing when it comes to Uni...Bed (It's also a chair/couch you see), Desk (Next to the bed), Computer + Monitor, Hotplate (Goes on top of computer), Large bag of Rice/Pasta...water can come out of the tap in the washroom.

The history of Thanksgiving in Canada goes back to an explorer, Martin Frobisher, who had been trying to find a northern passage to the Orient. In the year 1578, he held a formal ceremony, in what is now the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, to give thanks for surviving the long journey.

At the same time, French settlers, having crossed the ocean and arrived in Canada with explorer Samuel de Champlain, also held huge feasts of thanks. They even formed 'The Order of Good Cheer' and gladly shared their food with their First Nations neighbours.

Starting in 1879 Thanksgiving Day was observed every year but the date was proclaimed annually and changed year to year. The theme of the Thanksgiving holiday also changed year to year to reflect an important event to be thankful for.
