      Re: Goodbye Favre

I am so happy the Favre saga is over. I'm a pretty avid GB fan, and Favre trying to come back and expecting to be the 1st string QB was ridiculous. Think about poor Aaron Rodgers. He's waiting for a break into the league, gets it, and all of a sudden Favre pulls a Michael Jordan and wants to play again. If he wanted to keep playing, he should have never left.

On top of that, I don't think giving him to such a bad team was a good idea. Draft picks are nice, but players who have already proven themselves are better.
Funny stuff goes in this area right?

Yeah I mainly saw this as being quite unfair to players like Aaron Rodgers... wouldn't be right, in my opinion.

          Re: Goodbye Favre

And you got to give it to Rodgers, he has done everything right here, said all the right things. He could have very easily started bad-mouthing Favre left and right, but doesn't, and just keeps a cool head. I feel sorry for the guy, there was a little kid that went up to him at a Packer practice and said something along the lines of "Your no Favre, you suck."

Honestly, it's Favre who has come across looking like the crybaby in all this. I still respect Favre, and consider him one of the best to ever play, but this seemed pretty ridiculous.

                  Re: Goodbye Favre

First of all, the Packers are retarded because that's not how you treat a 3-time MVP who led them to 2 Super Bowls and was their foundation for 15 years. You don't make him serve as a backup to some guy who nobody's ever heard of just because they want the backup to develop. Seriously, they're not gonna win more than 6 games this year, b/c other than favre, they have no good players, except for donald driver.

See what i mean? if the packers hadnt treated favre like crap just b/c he retired a little early, then they would have a star quarterback that is currently on the cover of Madden 09.

Btw, is anyone preordering madden 09 or at least getting it?

The packers were going to pay him TWO MILLION DOLLARS to just SIT ON THE BENCH. He's got spirit, but jesus christ just ****ing retire.

Dude, Madden doesnt suck. The only reason ppl think it sucks is that it only introduces 2 new features every year and improved graphics, but they have a really good excuse b/c they have less than 10 months to produce Madden, as with every sports franchise. If thats how you feel, then you should purchase it only every 2 to 3 years. That's what I'm doing.

It's not that they want some unknown kid to develop. It's because they are ready to move on, and were sick of Favre's soap opera. Granted, I think something more happened to suddenly make the Packers want to get rid of him, but you can't sit around and wait on one guy every single year to decide whether that person wanted to play or not. You can't blame the Packers. Regardless of his history, one guy can't control one team.

Seriously, they're not gonna win more than 6 games this year, b/c other than favre, they have no good players, except for donald driver.
No good players except Driver? So Charles Woodson is a nobody? The season Ryan Grant had last year, and he isn't any good? What about Al Harris? Greg Jennings? Kebeer Gbaja-Biamila? Hmm.

See what i mean? if the packers hadnt treated favre like crap just b/c he retired a little early
Let me answer this with a few if's of my own. If Favre would have just been willing to compete for the starting job. If Favre wouldn't of retired. If Favre didn't ask for a trade the minute he found out he may not start for the Packers. Favre has been a complete idiot and cry-baby in this situation. I've always liked Favre, and haven't minded the Packers. But anyone with half a brain can understand Favre screwed this up more than anyone else.

Btw, is anyone preordering madden 09 or at least getting it
Nope. I've been done with Madden since 06.

The reason people think it sucks is because it's released filled with bugs and incomplete animations. The only reason people still buy it religiously is because EA owns all the rights to the NFL. People flock to the fact that "hurr hurr look at me I can be Romo and stick people up the butt with my analog sticks"

How would you like it if the star QB retired and it was your time to shine and then he decided to come back? The Packers are only being fair to Rogers.
