Ugh, this is pretty terrible. Had the girl written a real essay, she could've taken her chances and (winner or not) she at least tried. Thanks to her mom's influence though, she won, but now they might take away the tickets? Sucks to be that little girl. You can't really lay any blame on her, either. She's 6.

And Hannah Montana is sh*t anyway. My sister watches this show on Family Channel sometimes, and... well, I don't really know what there is to like about her. She's a terrible actress (WOAH, YOU CAN DO EXAGGERATED FACIAL EXPRESSIONS AND OVER-ACT EVERY REACTION, COOL!), and an even worse singer. The girl has got no pipes, and definitely does not deserve the easy ride she's on right now.

It's not clear whether the contest asked for a factual or fictional essay.

If it called for a factual essay, then the mom is a bitch.
If it called for a fictional essay, then either the judges are susceptible tools, or it was a damn good essay.

Exactly what I was thinking; but then again, I guess they wouldn't have taken it so seriously if it was factual... I mean what are they gonna do for putting some fallacy in a 6 year old's essay?

I don't see what's so wrong about pop-music.

I mean, I listen to LCD Soundsystem, Broken Social Scene, The Mars Volta, Menomena, Kevin Drew, Panda Bear - it's all good, but I also listen to Fallout Boy and Kelly Clarkson.

Now, if your beef was with children being used as money-making tools, I'd be more inclined to agree with you. Miley Cyrus is being used to gain money for her family and Disney, just like that mother used her daughter to score tickets to the concert. And her not-dead father.

That being said, the music isn't bad. It's just not worth $50 to see in concert. Much less $4,000.
