        Re: Best common cold remedies

It seems that EVERYONE is getting the flu.

Yet they all come to school anyway and complain about how they have it.

I always tell them to stay at home but the always respond, "Then I won't be able to turn in my homework. =[[[[[[["

I think they intentionally want to get everyone sick at school.

It is a good thing I rarely fall sick and the times I do, they seem near fatal although none has actually killed me before.

I always get it in April, second or third week. I expect it every year and there is nothing I can do to stop it. It really, really hurts.

Same happens at my school, people become sick, and still come anyways and end up getting a bunch of people sick and everyone complains.

I'm glad I don't get sick often. But every year there's that ONE time somewhere in March-June where my throat is sore, tonsils are swollen, nose is runny, temp of around 101-104, headaches and my stomach kills. But lately each year alternates between a cold and some other sickness like pink-eye which I had on halloween last year >.<

My doctor said it was a common cold, but I don't like to believe that.

My only solution is a 72 hour slumber, it always works for me.

No, I don't die. Whatever scientist claimed that anything over 105 degrees is certain death lied to you.

I average 106 degrees according to my mom. Sometimes I can go as high as 107, but that isn't really something to brag about.

I mean, I've heard the world record holder has gone up to 120 something degrees and came out of it just fine.

It is the week people that loose their brain cells at this temperature.

Odd drinks seems to work very, very well.

                    Especially Gatorade for some reason.

I agree with dontcareaboutmyid and Fluorescent; NyQuil is the way to go. Specifically, Children's NyQuil for cough and cold. One 30ml dose cleared up a really bad cold almost entirely in an hour or two.

                      Also, screw DayQuil.

If you decide to take a medicine for your cold, it should be a medicine "for children," which suprisingly has worked better for me with three brands each and every time (Tylenol, Vicks NyQuil, and something else). Each one should list a different dosing for people 12 and up on the back. Take that.

I've tried Sudafed, chicken noodle soup, tomato soup, inhaling Vicks vapors, orange juice, resting and all that jazz.

Anyone know from experience of any methods of speeding up recovery from a cold?
Nyquil and DayQuil should do the job. You could take Halls, too.

                            A whole new worlddddddddddddd.
