afro, he's right. A lot of people don't get high for the first few times.

ap let us know when you try lsd... I understand it's probably alot safer than DXM, anyway, if harder to get.

ps you might also just want to post the link to that erowid site where all those FAQs are (I read the one on DXM after getting curious reading about your trip).

I've actually done acid now. To say that it completely blew my expectations would be an understatement. Honestly, you can't prepare yourself for acid. But, if you try hallucinogens I'll stress the one important rule: Set and setting. Make sure you are in a comfortable place with people you know where nothing bad will happen. Turn off and unplug any phones and make sure you won't be around people who can't know that you're tripping.

As for the trip itself, many people think that acid is just a visual thing. Trust me, acid changes your mentality so much it's not even funny. Personally, I took 3 hits when I tried it. This led to an amazing visual trip (walls breathing, color swirls, trees turning into fractal dragons) as well as a complete mental world where I had some pretty profound revelations. For a first time acid user I'd recommend just taking one hit then moving up. I took 3 only because I'm comfortable with myself and I know my limits. Be warned though, that acid has been found to bring up mental issues such as schizophrenia in people who have some kind of latent disorder. This means that if you have a mental illness but not really know it, acid might amplify it afterwards. To date, I have experienced no 'acid flashbacks' in the sense that people generally think. I have seen objects that reminded me of tripping and put myself in a similar state of mind which provided entertainment, but I did not start tripping again. I would only recommend acid to someone who has tried other hallucinogens first, and only to a person who is comfortable with themselves. Also, be warned that occasionally DOB can be on an acid blotter instead of acid. DOB can cause intense nausea and very vivid and powerful hallucinations, and has caused people to do some pretty messed up things. Though it's not common to get DOB instead of acid, be careful and make sure you are getting your stuff from a reputable dealer.

Get connections to a good dealer, acid is pretty hard to come buy and usually comes in waves when I large shipment comes out of a renegade chemistry lab. I know there's a bunch of nice acid going through florida now and I hope it works its way up over to Texas.

OK. First thing I will say, and this is just personal opinion, is that anyone who does drugs/smokes is stupid. Now don’t get me wrong, I’ve got friends who smoke, but they never smoke near me, as they respect how much I detest it.

I’m the same with alcohol. I’d rather go out with some friends, not get drunk and have a good time than get trashed, then make a complete fool out of myself. I’m almost 16 years old and I can honestly say I have never touched a cigarette, any kind of illegal substance, or got drunk, as a large part of my life involves sporting competition at a high level.

Anyway, on to the point I wanted to make. Aperson, what was your motivation for smoking/doing drugs the FIRST time you did them. Was it peer pressure or were you depressed/troubled at all? My friend recently started doing acid and amphetamines, and he said he didn’t know what made him start, so I’m trying to get opinions of other drug users to help him address his problem.

Yeah it seems like you have a pretty warped view of drugs. Why did I smoke weed the first time? It seemed interesting. I've always been fascinated with anything that alters your thought patterns and weed seemed to do just that. I didn't start doing drugs because my friends bullied me into it, and I didn't start doing drugs because I hated life. Believe it or not dude, some people actually have healthy reasons for doing drugs.

From there, I started researching other drugs. After I learned what drugs were generally safe I decided to give them a shot as well This is what lead me to try the other hallucinogens I've done: They are not addictive and sparse use will not damage you in any permanent way.

Matt, I think what you don't understand is people do drugs for reasons besides getting 'fucked up.' Yeah, for me, smoking weed isn't that powerful any more but I do it because it is a cheap safe alternative to drinking when I'm out and partying with friends, and would like to get a nice vibe going. I also often smoke alone when I just want to sit down and think about somethings. On the other hand, stronger hallucinogens like acid and shrooms aren't drugs that make you see pretty things. For me, I have learned so much about myself, my spirituality, and a lot of other things while tripping.

You shouldn't have such an irrational disdain for drugs.
