This is old news. The Bird Flu has been making its rounds on the news ever since Spring. Varia, I dont think you really have to worry about going to Japan since the bird flu mainly affects continental Asia...last I heard at least.

Most of the time, when people refer to Asia, they are referring to China. I am going to assume that this epidemic is pretty much active in just China. Southeast Asia might be affected as well, but I don't think much of anything will be happening in (South) Korea or Japan.
