And as I know that's not going to change (unless i get into office, oh will thay be the day) he could at least have the decency to realize that a hurricane of lvl5 magnitude is approaching america and mobilize the national guard, the army, or have them completly ready to move out as to help with clean up, because that's all you can do with a storm like this.

It just had to miss texas.... Hopefully with the hurricane traveling across the east, his plane will be caught up in it and asplode or something.

Do you actually BELIEVE these little tirades you embark on?

First of all, presidents don't REALLY get vacations. Even when a president goes on official holiday, he's still dealing with matters of state.

Second, if YOU were president, if YOU held the responsibilities vested in the Commander in Chief, you'd want a chance to return home for a while, too. Everyone deserves a break. Stop looking for tiny reasons to hate on the president.

Third, the government can only do so much with regard to evacuating residents in danger. They have two options: they can help those who actually want to be helped, or they can risk their own lives forcing stubborn, idiotic people to evacuate. Which would you prefer?
EDIT because I forgot something: Generally it is the state that calls a state of disaster, and THEN the armed forces are mobilized to help. For now the states have to get over the shock of being raped by nature, have to account for the missing, have to restore power to the survivors, and THEN they will clean up.

I find that the president chose a very bad time to go on vacation. I don't know the specific date the pres went on vacation, but it had to have been before the hurricane otherwise the president would have been no where near Texas. It is mainly the fact that he stayed on vacation before and through the entire thing that I'm a little cheesed at, so I'm sorry for making it seem like the president doesn't need a little r&r every now and then. There could have been a bunch more organization through this entire thing as a whole.

That and I don't like Bush. The reason I voted for Kerry is because he has wartime experience and I thought he'd be able to do better things with Iraq than Bush, who with his limited experience is doing okay.

and if all the reporters just quit... how will the rest of the nation be aware of the need of the area and donate? Remember the tsunami? how many people still donate to that? Or the genocide in darfur? The problem is public apathy, and the media is the only thing that can, in the short term, affect that.

now obviousy that's highly steriotypical and the house asplodes was for fun, but we knew that there was going to be a hurricane, the reporters don't have to just be there to report that another person has been found dead, that's obvious. If there's something really pressing to report, such as the superdome has finally collapsed and there are people trapped, sure, report that.

and the reason the reporters are reporting it is because people want to know about it. duh. the average viewer wants to observe the destruction, wants to know its severity.
