I sit close to my computer, Squeek... lol... It's just I don't like the hassle of a cord getting caught up somewhere on the desk. Plus I used to love using it as a remote when I watched movies.

The batteries aren't a problem. They come with rechargeable ones and I just set the mouse on it's base every night.

I'm only telling you this because you sound like someone who can handle its power. I highly recommend the Logitech Cyberman, the only downside is it requires AA batteries.
