By the way you described it, it didn't even sound like they had any right to stop you. I don't know what the laws are like where you live (in the States?). But I have taken law courses and I do know a few things.

For one, the whole part about taking their gun out and pointing it at you. There is a crapload of paperwork they have to fill out just for doing that. There's 4 stages of paperwork just to make them think really carefully about using their weapons.

1) Stage one, reaching for it. - paperwork (think once about what your doing cop)
2) Stage two, pulling it out of holster - more paperwork (you sure about this?)
3) Stage three, pointing it - Tons of paperwork (better have a damn good reason)
4) Stage four, shooting - Lots and lots and lots of paperwork (hope you knew what you were doing)

He got onto stage 3...

Also, if you take a ticket to court and the cop doesn't show up for the small claims court. You automatically do not have to pay for the ticket. If they do show up, then you have to prove your case.

Canada has much stricter gun laws in general than the US (I am doing a big paper on this stuff).

But I am almost certain that this guy was absolutely in the wrong.

He did have a right to stop us, because they're dirtbikes. The one I was riding is a motocross bike and my friend and his girlfriend were riding a trial bike. And they don't have DOT approved tires because they're for dirt. And my motocross bike like waaay doesn't pass emissions because it's so powerful. Anyways I'm definitely getting that guy thrown off the force, but I'm not going to try to do anything to the other guy because he wasn't anything like that bastard.

Given cops need an arrest warrant to put handcuffs on someone and there are all kinds of rules against getting guns out in situations like that, I think you made the whole thing up.

But that's just me.

Edit: Now that I think about it, he could have just said we were trying to run because we did have to pass the other cop car before completely stopping, although he never mentioned anything about fleeing lawful arresters. Another thing, the cops hate me, or my brother atleast. The only bad things that happen in my neighborhood is because of my brother example: 7 years ago while I was in like 3rd grade my brother shot my mom in the face and she survived. If the bullet had been like 1/8th of an inch in any other direction she would have been dead. The asshole cop even asked me "How come all the trouble in this neighborhood comes from you're house." I didn't say anything because this is the first time I've ever been in trouble. Doubt thats enough to have a gun stuck in my face, highly...

I think i would've heard about that in the news, i mean we dont live very far apart.
