Its pretty much the lesser of two evils. I want kerry to win, yet lots of americans buy into that whole "Terrorism" so I have feeling bush will win. But with that said GO NADER!!!

The race is going to be very close. Right now the standings are 49% Bush, 49% Kerry. This being the night before elections. California has already gone to Kerry. Which gives them 55 electoral votes. Now, the commentors say whoever gets 2 of these 3 states will win the election: Florida, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. Each of them have 20-some electoral votes. The election is pretty hard to predict at this point even though it is the day before. It all depends on who get's those three states. Apparantly Bush has focused on going to Florida, and has been there about 30-some times campaigning. Not quite sure about what Kerry has been doing. Those are my views on predicting the election.
For who I want to win the election (views on who people want to win): If you support the preemptive (sp?) policy and the war then you vote Bush. If you support focusing on the homeland then you want Kerry. I think Bush would be the man to get the job done in Iraq. However, I disagree with some of Bush's thoughts. For one, I don't believe in "pro-life". I believe in "pro-choice" for abortions. I think it is up to the woman. Also, I do not believe in the draft. There has been some talk about Bush (if he get's elected again) about possibly re-introuducing the draft. As you know, I have an older brother who in 2 years will be eligiable for the draft. I would never want him to get drafted, and he doesn't want to be drafted either. However, I do prefer the republican party. They are more for the people. I think I will have to side with Bush on this one because he is the best person to finish the job in Iraq, and I prefer the Republican Party.Comment

flypie, your missing the whole point of the draft. Your serving your country, and fighting for freedom in most cases. Don't think everyone should just sit around and have stuff handed out to them on a gold platter. You actually sometimes have to do things, like go to war. And why should a woman have a choice at abortion? (im not trying to change your mind, this is just my views) If a woman doesn't want a kid, don't be so dumb to get pregnant in the first place. There are many ways of protection and birth control that don't have anything to do with abortion. It's the womans fault if she gets pregnant and doesn't want a kid.Comment

Exactly, Moogy hit the nail on the head. Also, all of you "pro-life" people never actually think about the life. If the couple doesn't want to have the kid what makes you think that they are going to treat him well? Why would they treat a kid that they never wanted kindly? I would much rather see the kid put out of his misery while he couldn't feel anything in the womb instead of getting abused and hurt his/her whole life.
About the draft. I think you are missing the whole point of it. Why should people who don't want to fight in the war have to go fight? What if they are completely against it. I say the people who are over there, who signed up, should be the only ones over there. Only volunteers. Why should someone ruin their life? If you want to serve your country that's great, but what about those who don't?

Living in a battleground state is freakin' annoying. But through the newspaper, I've talked to John Kerry for like 10 seconds and seen him speak three times. Bush just seems to ignore our area of Ohio, but I've seen him once and Dick Cheney twice, and I talked briefly with Mrs. Cheney once. I still feel like I can't vote for either. I don't know. Neither candidate just clicks for me. The 2004 election has just turned into Bush vs. Anti-Bush. It doesn't even seem to be about Kerry but that's how I interpret it.
And it sucks for the Nader voters in Ohio. After a judgement by Ken Blackwell, he's banned from this year's ballot in Ohio.

All Kerry is really is a less conservative version of Bush, they are all the same thing.
