I live in CT and you can't get your permit until your 16th birthday, and then after you complete driving instruction, as long as it has been at least 4 months since you got your permit, you can test for your license. I finished the classes and I am almost 17 now because I have been busy, and now I find out that all of the tests are during school hours and my mom won't pull me out for my test, so I have to wait until a vacation to take my test
.
Anyway, nice LD, minifridges are pretty sweet, and I hope your other present is cool too

In NY, you cannot get your permit until your 16, you then must have 20 hours of driving, until you can take your road test for a "Junior Licence" where you can go to like, school, work, ect. Then after 6 months you can get your real licence.

In Michigan you need 50 hours of driving. Which is like the most of any state. =/. Illinois is like 36.

Bah. The permit test here sucks. It's two tests: signs and general stuff. On signs you have to get 10/10. It's easy until they throw you a curveball: A CONE. WHAT? It's a CONE! It means... CONE!
And you can't miss 5 on the general out of 25. The 4 I missed were all distance-related questions that weren't in the freakin book. Then it's 50 hours of driving (10 at night) and 7 hours of instructor-led driving. And you can't get your license until you're 16 1/4 years old minimum.
But happy birthday. I hate you for that fridge and plan to steal it later tonight along with any other gifts you get. Sleep with one eye open....
