On the topic of disk space, do you know of any good disk space programs for Linux? For Windows, SpaceSniffer gives nice visuals about what directories are taking up the most space and it updates live as it scans through files and folders.

kdirstat
if you've used windirstat, you might notice similarities. kdirstat actually came before windirstat!
