Quebec pulled together 49.42% to leave Canada in 1995. This is a bunch of ultra-conservative morons who have no idea what they are actually suggesting.

iirc did they ultimately not do it because they wouldnt be able to sustain themselves without the rest of Canada? not sure where i heard that from, or if it would even be a factor anymore since NAFTA and WTO are allowing them to compete globally? idk i dont know much about quebec in the first place l0l

Strip the Citizenship from Everyone who Signed a Petition to Secede and Exile Them

Unless I'm missing something on that petition, there's no guarantee that all the people that signed it are actually FROM Texas. How do they know it's not other U.S. citizens that WANT to see Texas leave?

If you look at them, they are almost all started by people not in that state, and signed mostly by people who aren't in those states either.

In fact, I'd assume that the 6000 or so people who are on each state's petition are in the main, the same 6000 people clicking all of them, and not each different people.

This is a troll, not anything remotely legitimate or worth giving any consideration or attention to.

1/3rd of 1% of people in Texas signed that petition. Oshit, better panic!

And quite a few of the people who signed the petition aren't even from Texas! haha!
Then consider how many people signed all of the related petitions out there. Then consider how many people signed the petitions for laughs.

I mean for goodness sake, Fox News is broadcasting this, and it doesn't even have 100k signatures! When's the last time a news station broadcasted a video without that video getting millions of views? Just shows how few people actually want to sign it.

this is not to accuse all who want to secede from the u.s. of being racist (although, let's be honest, they probably are) but i sincerely hope people like dotkritic don't one day shift the national discussion to ridiculous fringe groups like these because of some fucked-up principle wherein if a group takes some sort of action against something it somehow takes on a modicum of legitimacy because hey there has to be a reason for it
