FFIX was a terribly quick game to beat. It was piss easy.

Personally, all of these bosses are complete pussies and push overs.

Of that list, probably Sephiroth would be the hardest. Bust Seifer isn't much of a boss battle, the final boss could own him up the bum.

The last boss of FFVIII wasn't Rinoa... it was Ultimecia. Rinoa was a witch, but she wasn't the last boss. She was only posessed by her at certain points. I also think she was posessed by Adel at some point as well, just can't remember.

Bottom Line: the last boss of FFVIII is Ultimecia.

Sephiroth is actually very weak. Jenova is the true badass behind the scenes, and is arguably the true mastermind supervillain. If you understand the story of FF7 you will see that Sephiroth is actually a huge pushover compared to the other guys. Just because he has a high coolness factor does not make him powerful.

I would say either Ozma or Nemesis... instant pwnination.

Kuja technically just Ultima'd the surface of Terra -- still pretty bad, but nothing compared to what other badasses can do.

Well, Ultimecia has the potential to be the most powerful due to her time compression abilities, which had the potential to compress multiple instances of time into singular frames, killing everyone involved but Ultimecia, if I recall correctly. Pretty nasty stuff. I still think it was an ability she did not understand how to fully utilize.

Right, yeah. She was looking for a vessel and all that. And had the ability to compress time.

So, I think it makes sense that after she failed numerous times, she compressed time. Again. And succeeded. And that's why you go through the time compression to fight her.

And it makes sense, because whatever you name your necklace is the name of the final boss. Which is modeled after your ring. Which Rinoa had. Which, if she were a powerful, time compressing witch living in solidarity, would be the one item that would help her keep her humanity, considering.

Sorcerers have a hard time ageing, as dictated be Edea - Cid aged a crapload, Edea didn't.

That would make Rinoa outlive Squall, which could make her very, very bitter. It goes with the huge love thing in the game, too.

The fact that Ultimecia's castle is RIGHT NEXT to the orphanage, where Squall told Rinoa he would wait for her, forever. Okay. Cool. Just a huge coincidence that Ultimecia would just go, "Oh, this building? Why not."

But the Griever thing for me is what does it. The fact that Rinoa never gives Griever back, and that Squall considers it to be the most powerful GF, and then for some reason, Ultimecia has the same GF.

i've read this a lot of times before and to add to the "theory" you can find images that compare the face of ultimecia(artemiza in spanish) with the face of rinoa and you'll find that indeed they look alike

If anything Jenova was the pushover, since you even get to fight her before Bizzaro Sephiroth/One Winged Angel Sephiroth/Sephiroth, and all's it takes is 1 limit break to completely destroy her. Of course they all wouldnt last even 5 minutes against Ruby Weapon. Good times sticking the entire 45 minute fight out with just Cloud vs Ruby. Ozma's definately hardcore too especially if you dont have any dark resistance since every hit will be for 9,999 and impossible to survive. Omega Weapon was extremely hardcore too.

If anything this poll should have been about most hardcore OPTIONAL boss rather than most badass actual boss. I think Sephiroth would probably barely win against Kuja if you think about his previous experience and fighting style in SOLDIER.
