I don't have any of those, it's a waste of time buying every machine and having like a few good games on each of them. I'll stick with my SNES and NES and PS1

PS2 followed by Gamecube. I'm more of an RPG console gamer, and PS2 pertains to that genre the best out of the three, imo. PC is still the best though. ;D

I don't mind the XBox so much as the fans, they're not the brightest.

PS2 is having a good time attracting the older crowds with games such as Xenosaga, FFX, Devil May Cry, Onimusha, and other titles, but the sequels to some of these games plain out suck.

Xenosaga was good, except for the three and a half hours of FMV's in the first six hours of the game. FFX was great, but FFX-2...the worst sequel of all, the story was complete BS! Devil May Cry was bas as hell, but DMC II lacked everything but action. The story stunk, and so did mostly everything else but the action. Onimusha is one of the greatest PS2 games ever. Onimusha II...not so much. I liked it, but it lacked in some places. Onimusha III was actually a good end to a trilogy, the time travel thing really added to it.

Now for GC. There are few titles worth mentioning as of now, on my part, but I must admit, they are gorgeous. Metroid Prime and Echoes were sexcellent, the graphics were gorgeous, and so was the game play. Resident Evil 4, has not come out yet, but the demo shows that the game is going to be great, its actually original for a Resident Evil game, they picked a new theme! Wind Waker was ok, I'm not a huge fan of Cell-shading, but it was fun nonetheless. Custom Robo was nice, I liked the game play and the idea, it reminded me of Unholy War. Lastly, I'm going to bring up a con for GC. There are alot of kid's games, especially when it came out. The only game I wanted to play when it first came out was Super Smash Bros. Melee. By the way, that game r0XX0rs.

In conclusion, on my side, GC is probably superior to most systems, it has age, graphics, and gameplay!
My friend came up to me and said, \"You know what I like, Mashed Potatoes.\"

And I was like \"Woah man, you didn\'t give me time to guess.\"

RE: Re: RE: Which Current Generation System Is Your Favorite

Looks like the handhelds are getting no love. I thought that at least one old school gamer would've voted for the GBA, since it has so many SNES/Genesis ports. I'm suprised that GCN did better than XBox. Don't get me wrong, I'm a Nintendo fanboy until the day I die, but I always hear everyone saying how Nintendo is kiddy and the GCN sucks. Of course, I don't agree with that. It's pretty much proven that Prime/Echoes has the best graphics of any game ever, and I enjoy playing "kiddy" games like Super Mario Sunshine and *gasp* the old Pokemon Gold/Silver for Game Boy.

But, like I said earlier, the PS2 has the Square Enix RPGs, and that turns the tide in its favor in my book. But GameCube has Super Smash Bros. Melee, Metroid, The Legend of Zelda..... it's almost impossible to decide which system's actually better. Just look at the votes. PS2: 9 GCN: 9

              Uh

10% of GBA games are above 6/10 quality.
10% of that 10% are games that I might actually be interested in playing someday.
Half of those are games that I would want to pay for enough to plunk down the cash.

Main reason why I don't have a Game Boy Advance.

                  My list:

                  1 & 2) Gamecube/PS2
                  2 & 1) PS2/Gamecube
                  3) Nintendo DS
                  4) GB SP
                  5) PSP (whenever I can get it, I know it'll be awesome)
                  6) Another title
                  7) Another title
                  8) Another title
                  9) Another title
                  10) Another title
                  666) XboX (It is of t3h DEVIL!)

Well, alright, XboX isn't THAT bad... but I still wouldn't buy it. If I got it as a gift, or had extra money to blow, then maybe. But other than that, no. As for the GC and PS2... I think I might like GC a little better. Why? Mariokart Double Dash, MP/MP2, FFCC, SSBM, and many more. It's awesome. PS2 has it's good shar of titles too though... just have to find them....

RE: Re: RE: Which Current Generation System Is Your Favorite

My vote goes to the GBA- Tactics Ogre, Mario Kart, FFTA, FF 1 and 2, Phantasy Star collection, metroid fusion, car battler joe, mario golf, and GT advance series are all 9/10 or 10/10 games. And they all cost a maximum of 40$ when new and theyre all probably under 20$ by now.

Of course so many developers develop crap games that the average is down to around 6/10 like Anticrombie said. But for all the arguments over which system was the best commercial success, the GBA won over the three home consoles. The actual number is probably close to the three combined. And the ds is estimated to sell almost 5 million before the end of next year. Yay for handhelds!

Paper Mario 2, TOS, and Fire Emblem are the only RPGs that look good to me. I can't play PSO Episodes 1 and 2 or PSO3CR because I don't have a modem or the money to pay for it. Oh, and by Wind Waker 2, do you mean the new Legend Of Zelda with the "mature" Link?
the PSO series has an offline mode too where u can play it like any other game offline. you dont HAVE to play online. the game is still super mega ultra fun offline too!

GBA has fun games if im on the go lol. otherwise id say that ps2 and gc tie for me. gc has good graphics and good games. ps2 has a great selection of games. xbox good graphics not a good game selection that i couldnt get off of the ps2 and gc(besides the halo series...bleh 2 games not enough to make me get that console) the gc is in desperate need of some rpgs...not saying that it doesnt have any but it needs more. the handhelds come before the xbox. for me xbox is in dead last.

I know this topic is a little old, but I'd still like to say a few things:

I hear so many people saying how they love the GameCube so much, but yet it still lags in sales behind the PS2 and XBox. Don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing the GCN. Quite the opposite, actually. The GCN has some of the best games out there, and yet it still continues to do, at best, marginally well. It just doesn't make sense. There's too many people who see Nintendo as "kiddy" and therefore refuse to play any of their games. Idiots. I honestly hope Nintendo's next system, the "Revolution", will do a lot better.

Oh, and one more thing: why does the GCN have so few RPGs, but the GBA has so many?

GCN has the best collection of fun titles. There's really no contest for the 45+ top-sellers in their library. PS2 is second for truly original games and a huge array of great titles.
