Well, this has been an eventful day. And I think we all know why.

But I'm going to vote stretchypanda again. She's been awfully quiet all game...even if she is with Guido for the holidays.

It's gotten so bad that even the MODERATOR forgot she was in the game.

I feel like I should say something else...but my mind has hit a blank right now, sorry guys.

Argh, I hope some people show up soon. There's only 5 hours left and a ton of people still need to put in their word.

I'm sure people will log on in a few hours, after the x-mas festivities die down.

My Christmas gift to you. Deadline extended until 1 AM EST.

I don't feel comfortable tossing out 5 phantoms unless absolutely necessary.

well, i'm trying to sneak my way on... won't be back on before voting ends...

i just don't feel comfortable voting off Verr, even though i see his suspiciousness... i feel he is like snapps a few games ago. he is new and just doesn't know any better.

with that, my vote goes to hans

reasons: he's been on to post, but not enough to arouse suspicions... his posts have been somewhat odd (don't have time to go back and quote his posts from earlier in the thread, but feel free to check and see if you agree with me)... and, above all, i feel that when i was a wolf, my main goal was to fit in. to post, but not alot. to toss out suspicions, but not seem suspicious... etc. Hans fits this. guido/panda/shox have been TOO quiet...

PS - alain... emccky told about 5 people he was the psychic. he dead. i mentioned this in at least one post earlier... not sure if you said what you said on purpose, or forgot my previous posts... i'll leave that for others to decide, or for me to decide later.

HAPPY FESTIVAS! it is now the time for the airing of the grievances, followed by the feats of strength.
            RIP

              Imma vote HansSky

Seriously, though, have you seen his posts against stretchy? I was willing to attribute such logic to n00bish behavior last game, but now it's just wolfish. Trying to cast blame elsewhere, Hans? Why not me? I've posted just as frequently as stretchy this game. Anyway, there's my vote.

Sorry all for the shallow post, but tonight's the last night I get to spend with stretchy, and we detoured to my brother's house to avoid this phantom-vote nonsense, so yeah, I'm out.

I am voting for Tass. I have my own logic that he might be trying to use different tactics this game to make us think he is human.

IF YOU ARE THE BOMB YOU WILL CLICK THIS and if you dont, you suck.

K, Hans, I can name several people who have been outrageously quiet this game, but you've singled me out I think twice, now. What gives? I'm not like other newbs who get over-excited about this game and invariably draw attention to themselves, but I can see where a wolf would hope that my silence would be suspicious enough to earn a few bandwagon votes, because I AM new, don't have the somewhat imposing respect some of the veteran players have earned, and I stay out of alliances, so I don't have anyone to back me up if I get cornered (well, except Guido, but that's a: one person and b: a different alliance).

I sat down with intentions of voting someone else, but as I've been given absolutely nothing else to go on (and, as Guido said, this is my last night in Texas and I have some awesome sleeping to get to), I choose you, HansSky.

And Chardish forgot me because I'm a woman. Sexist bastard.

To Tass: I am trying to fit in this game. I didn't last game, and it almost got me lynched. So why wouldn't I try to survive, wolf or no wolf?

Guido: I've been thinking you too, but I can't vote two people. I just have a feeling...and I know I'm going to get lynched and/or flamed because I'm saying. I trust my instinct...I feel it to be very strong, and guides me well. I would give examples, but I have no time and you all would find it blasphemy.

Stretchy: I know you're new, but I think you're smart enough to play like the veterans, and I do have respect for you. I don't plan to get bandwagon votes for this, but I need to vote for someone I feel is a wolf.

This is subject to change also, for self-preservation purposes.

                      Oh another thing...

If I was a wolf, wouldn't it just be easier to bandwagon onto Verruckter, and just help lynch him? Why throw out a completely random vote(which is not what it is), when I can just say, "oh yeah...what he said", and make myself less incriminating?

EDIT: I'm not going to be on again tonight, and who knows what could happen. Therefore...my vote changes to Verruckter.

A bit ironic, considering my post.

                        ------------------------
"Come in, FOXHOUND agents." The voice of Lynn Founders enters everyone's Codecs. "I managed to tap into the Chinese military network, and I've been downloading several gigabytes of information on the base you're in. Of course, I don't have the right security clearance to find out about the Chinese secret projects, but I have found a map readout of the facility. There are two things of interest I want to point out to you."

                        "Go ahead," says Tasselfoot.

"First of all, one of the rooms on the barracks wing is marked "重要人卧室". You all know Chinese, I think you know what that means."

                        "VIP quarters," says Verruckter.

"Right. It's very likely that's where Richardson is being held, unless he's a prisoner. And I didn't get that impression from your photos and the lack of information concerning this visit. Alain, you're closest to that room."

"I'm looking at the same map as Lt. Founders," says the Colonel. "Alain. Go upstairs to the next floor of where you're at, make the first left. There will be two guards there; dispatch them both. When you're done, keep caution and stay alert for guards. The rest of you, I'll direct you to Alain's position, and you can interrogate the Secretary of Defense."

                        "Aye, sir," says Alain.

"The other point of interest," says Founders, is the second largest building, next to the secondary power generators. It's on the north-central part of the base. It's marked as "辅助餐厅". Something seems fishy here."

"You're right," says Lightdarkness. "Why would the auxiliary mess hall need to be the second largest building on the base?"

"I don't think it's to keep the Chinese soldiers well-fed," says the Colonel. "You need to infiltrate that building. It might be where the Chinese are working on their secret black projects."

                        "Understood," says HansSky.

"But first, you need to find Richardson and question him. Speaking of which, who are you picking to terminate? If you're as good as people have been saying, you should be able to eliminate the final spy today, and we won't have to deal with enemies in the presence of the Secretary."

                        "We choose Verruckter," says Stretchy.

                        "Understood. Dr. Roberts?"

"Yes, sir. Understood," says the Doctor.

"It is done," says the Colonel. "Now go - you have to get some answers out of Richardson."

But alas, you haven't killed all 3 spies. It is now Night 4, and I need to hear picks from the wolves and guardian.

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: TWG VII - The Fox And Hounds - Night 1 +

                          -They've found where Richardson is.
-Dammit. We underestimated them. Is he going to talk?
-Probably. I never had much faith in the man.
-He's all rigged up, isn't he?
                          -Yeah...should we kill him?
-Not yet. I want to find out what FOXHOUND has to ask him. They may reveal more about their mission than they're revealing.
-Through A, B, and C, we've been able to figure out practically everything about this operation.
-The technology simply represses consciousness...it takes a really skilled mind to probe the depths of the host.
-But we've had them since before their briefing on this mission.
-Right...but there may be some people closer to the inside upper ranks of FOXHOUND. People who weren't on the Forgotten Mission. We need to find out how they react around this VIP. FOXHOUND is the most secret organization in the armed services. Even its members probably don't know all its secrets...
-Understood. I'll let Richardson live for a while.
-We got another code, though. Your orders?
                          -Kill him immediately.

The nine remaining FOXHOUND members meet up outside the door of the Secretary of Defense's room.

"Colonel," says Tasselfoot, "we're all here. Preparing to enter the room."

"Proceed with caution," says the Colonel.

"I'm already jamming nanocommunications inside and out of that room. Once you go in, if it's tapped, bugged, or someone is listening in, they won't be able to penetrate the 'digital shield' I've created. Which means that even though we won't be able to listen in, no one else will, either."

No sooner does she finish her sentence than Tasselfoot lurches forward, vomits a pint of blood, and collapses. His neck slams violently against his right shoulder, and he slaps the ground with his right palm, as if trying to claw his way forward. He begins to gag on his own bloody saliva, and dies with a fevered gurgle and an expression of horror.

"Dr. Roberts!" shouts Stretchy. "What just happened?"

"It would appear that since we are no doubt being monitored, someone decided that the best time to kill Tasselfoot would be before he entered the shield of protection from nanomachine transmissions," says Dr. Roberts. "It's simply a shame you all can't remain safe forever."

"Hide the body," says the Colonel. "We can't have any guards barging in on your friendly conversation with Richardson."

Flypie drags Tasselfoot's limp body to a nearby locker and shoves it inside. Before closing the door, she removes his mostly-clean pants, and uses them to soak up the remaining blood from the floor. "It's crude and inhumane," she says, "but at least it will work. We've got a mission to accomplish."

                          "Enter the door," says Campbell.

HansSky picks the lock on the door and enters to find Alan Richardson asleep on his bed. He immediately loads a dart into his M9 tranquilizer gun and shoots Richardson in the stomach. He wakes up. The rest of the FOXHOUND squad enters behind him and shuts the door.

"What the hell did you just shoot me with?" Richardson queries.

"A potent compound of rhodanide synthetase," responds HansSky. "It's a naturally occuring antidote to potassium cyanide. Meaning if you've got a suicide pill hidden away somewhere, it just became useless."

"I don't understand. There were supposed to be three of you to come for me!" says Richardson.

The whole FOXHOUND team looks at each other.

"You're not the men the Patriots sent, are you?"

"Patriots?" asks Alain. "Who are the Patriots?"

"Oh, no..." Richardson says. "Then you must be with FOXHOUND."

"We are," says Eyespew. "And you're going to tell us who these Patriots are."

"We've all been trained to read and interpret facial microexpressions," says Blahblah. "We'll know in a second when you're lying to us."

"The Patriots are an excellent football team from New England," says Richardson.

"Can the humor," says Guido. "We don't like resorting to torture, but we will if we have to."

"Fine," says Richardson. "I suppose I have no choice but to talk."

                          He pauses.

"I suppose I have no choice but to talk!" He begins to sweat, cowering in a corner.

"We're jamming all communications in and out of this room. You're trapped, with nowhere to run and nowhere to hide, and no one backing you up," says Lightdarkness. "Not even death can save you from us."

"Fine! And what if I do talk? The very existance of the Patriots is a concept so absurd that Campbell would reject it outright! Would he even bother reporting it to his superiors?"

"I don't think Campbell's close-minded to anything after what happened at Shadow Moses. Being arrested by Jim Houseman's goons didn't exactly warm him up to the office of Secretary of Defense," says Blahblah.

"Who are the Patriots!" yells Alain.

"The Patriots are everywhere and everyone in America. They're the government, the news media, the media in general, the corporations - we're everywhere."

"You're one of them?" asks Djshox.

"Of course," says Richardson. "I was the one who made all this possible."

                          "All of this?" asks Stretchy.

"This whole base, the alliance with the Chinese, and GHOST."

"GHOST? Is that the stealth camoflauge that covers this whole base?" asks Guido.

"Yes," replies the Secretary of Defense.

"There's something you're not telling us," says HansSky. He pulls his gun and aims it right at Richardson's groin. "This won't kill you, but it will probably sting a little."

Richardson sighs. "What do I care, you're probably going to end up killing me. Or I'm going to die. I'll tell you this - the Patriots still have a presence in your midst. I have been briefed on the appearance of the agents that were to come for me. How many of them are there I do not know, but everything I tell you, the Patriots will know you know. I suppose that can give me some solace."

                          "What's GHOST?" asks Flypie.

"GHOST is the codename for the United States' newest Metal Gear project, Metal Gear GHOST."

"First REX and RAY, and now GHOST," says HansSky.

"That's right, Metal Gear - a nuclear-equipped walking battle tank, capable of indetectably firing a nuke from anywhere in the world, on any terrain. The superweapon of the 21st century," says Richardson.

"I take it GHOST is invisible," says Blah.

"Right. It is the most fearsome weapon ever developed...completely covered in stealth camoflauge, it is indetectable by any conventional means. RAY was amphibious, and REX's nuclear missiles were unable to be intercepted. But GHOST is the perfect tool for the Patriots."

                          "Why?" asks Stretchy.

"The Patriots are able to control people through information manipulation," says Richardson. "We make sure that the right cover story gets fed to the media. We make sure conspiracy theorists stay uncredible. We make sure that the average citizen only knows what we want to know. Our capacity to do this has extended even to the Internet. We have a powerful artificial intelligence, known as S3, that ensures that people only know what we want them to know."

He continues. "However, there's one problem. We don't control all the information sources in the world...yet. In the meantime, independent sources of news and intelligence - especially in countries like Russia, Japan, and China, are able to give people the straight story. Of course, the S3 ensures that none of these news stories accurately reach the United States as written. You may not know this, but for the past 10 years, no one to leave the American border has ever had an accurate impression of what's going on in the rest of the world. And since the Patriots own all the news organizations in English-speaking countries, you have to be multilingual just to get the straight scoop."

                          "Unbelievable..." says Eyespew.

"But there are some things too explosive to cover up. Word of a nuclear explosion simply cannot stay away from American ears, even if we try to put a good cover story on it. But with GHOST, we don't have to. We can cause any kind of nuclear war we want, and we can make any countries we want the warriors. GHOST is not intended for stealth strikes like REX was, nor for deterrance like RAY. Metal Gear GHOST is a war machine, and it is designed to launch nukes. We can invent any war we want to, and we can decide who the warriors are, even who the winners are. What country is going to argue with us when every satellite in the world sees a nuclear missile fired from a military base in a particular country? With an invisible, mobile nuclear assault vehicle, we are the masters of all war."

                          "That's monstrous..." mutters Alain.

"What were you going to use it for?" asks Blahblah.

"What do you mean, 'were'? Try 'are.' The agents in your midst still have a job to do. The Chinese are developing GHOST for us, but we have no intention of letting them keep it. The Patriot agents will capture Metal Gear GHOST, and take it to the volatile country of North Korea, where it will launch a series of nuclear missiles at Japan, obliterating the country from the face of the earth."

"Won't they be intercepted?" asks Lightdarkness.

"Never," says the Secretary. "The missiles may be detectable, but a strike on Japan from North Korea will happen so quickly that no one will be able to stop them. In addition, the missiles are fairly difficult for an anti-missile system to take down, thanks to a sophisticated cooling system that keeps the missile no hotter than a lit cigar while flying."

"What's worth killing 122 million people for?" asks Hans.

"Keeping power. The Patriots are in power in America simply because we managed to steal the Philosopher's Legacy - a secret trust fund established by the US, Russia, and China after WWII - in its entirety. We possess a sum of money so monstrous you would be unable to imagine that it even exists in the United States. It really isn't - since most of it is in secret bank accounts throughout the world."

                          "How much?" asks Eyespew.

                          "Fourteen trillion dollars."

                          "Ridiculous," says Flypie.

"Japan, with the second largest GDP in the world, stands as a threat, albeit a small one, to our economic superiority in the world. With the total destruction of Japan, no one will be able to buy more power - or more governments - than us," says Richardson.

                          "Buy?" asks Djshox.

"Yes, buy," the Secretary responds. "You didn't think that government officials do their jobs for love of their country, did you? No - the 'Patriots' are a very ironic party indeed - we use our pocketbook to ensure that everyone in Washington is our servant, willing or not. Not only will eliminating Japan destroy our biggest rival, but it will give the U.S. an easy scapegoat to destroy - after all, everyone knows North Korea is a volatile nuclear power."

"So if this is true, why did you order FOXHOUND to come destroy the base?" asks Lightdarkness.

"We coerced the Chinese into spearheading this operation in return for 1/4 of the Philosopher's Legacy. They would head the R&D of the program; the Patriots would get Metal Gear. But their knowledge of the existance of GHOST would be a powerful bargaining chip in the world arena. They could easily blackmail the United States. So, naturally, we had to have the base photographed - so we had proof of its existance - and destroyed, so China wouldn't. In addition, the Patriot agents were charged with eliminating FOXHOUND, so that if GHOST, my presence, or anything else suspicious inside this place were revealed to you, even the United States military wouldn't know any more than they needed to, as deemed by us. Matters of nuclear war are far too important to leave to people like FOXHOUND, wouldn't you agree?"

As Richardson grins, everyone in the room is visibly angered.

"I was at this base to make sure that it didn't seem like the work of the American government when the base was destroyed. I was to be secretly slipped from my quarters at night out of the base shortly before its destruction. My death would be faked, and the Chinese would have never known. The plan would have gone off without a hitch if you hadn't discovered me and learned the truth. Now it's absolutely essential that our agents do away with you."

"How did agents of the Patriots get inside FOXHOUND?" asks Alain.

"You're familiar with the Big Shell incident, correct?" says Richardson. "Back when FOXHOUND was reinstated as a unit in the military, four years after Shadow Moses, a young man named Jack was recruited into what he believed to be the force. All of you are, of course, members of the real FOXHOUND. But Jack was dragged into an elaborate simulation devised by us, instead, to test out the S3 artificial intelligence. An elaborate military Turing test, if you will. When the Big Shell mission ended, three members of the real FOXHOUND were sent to investigate the remains of the Big Shell to ascertain what had happened. This was known as the Forgotten Mission. However, an agent of the Patriots known as Shalashaska lay in wait for them. They were kidnapped and brought back to one of our many secret headquarters."

                          "And then what?" asks Lightdarkness.

"They were subdued and stuffed with nanomachines. Our brilliant scientists used this as a field test for their latest developments. You see, they were able to identify the part of the brain that links human consciousness to brain activity. Thus, the part of their brains where decision-making and free will was subdued. Through a nanomachine uplink via codec, we injected similar nanomachines into three of our agents, codenamed A, B, and C. As their bodies lay unconscious and immobilized in three tubes, their cognitive processes were forcably imposed upon the three agents in your unit. Everything the hosts sensed and experienced was relayed back to their brains, and their decision-making was sent back to their bodies. In short, the three agents we captured became host bodies for the consciousnesses of three of our agents. After a little bit of psychological reconditioning, they were sent back to you, after being presumed dead. Even your scientists were unable to notice what we had done, and while A, B, and C have peacefully rested in their tubes for seven months now, they have been living the lives of your agents. The subterfuge is undetectable."

"Unbelievable.." says Stretchy. "I don't understand how we couldn't notice our friends and comrades like this..."

"What are we going to do?" asks Flypie.

"Simple," says Eyespew. "We eliminate the remaining Patriot agents, and we destroy Metal Gear GHOST, and the base. It's the only way to stop the Patriots from destroying Japan, and it's the only way to make sure that this weapon is never built again..."

"Let's go," says Blahblah. "We've got work to do, and fast."

"Aren't you going to kill me?" asks Richardson.

"No," says Lightdarkness. "We're sure that your Patriot friends will handle that as soon as we stop jamming the room."

Guido opens the door, and exiting, touches his transceiver. "Colonel. I've got some very, very disturbing information from Richardson that you need to hear..."

Good, now I won't have to read this longass thread anymore.

You guys take this way too seriously. I mean wtf LD, finding subliminal messages in my posts??? Why would I even bother? "I am 75% sure that you are a wolf". Sorry buddy, you're 75% wrong.

Anyways, thanks for the "fun" I had.

Thats great that you think that, but you are dead, and most likely a wolf yourself.

Anyways, as per Tass, he thinks we've gotten at least 1 wolf, if not 2. I have no clue who the 3rd might be, only to know I think i've narrowed it down to 4.
