Wolf chat has turned into FreezinIce soliloquy zone
i have no intention of dragging out the night phase its full length but first time to air my thoughts
i can trace the moment the game was lost beyond saving to the point where I exposed the fact that DBP could NK because there would be no roleblock and kill at the same time
maybe the situation was bait?
maybe he was genuinely ignorant
but that post revealed a decidedly anti town state of mind that dbp and gradiant picked up on(edited)
i had no buisness thinking about those topics in my situation, much less posting about them
saying that i did it to justify my focus on sanz was a weak defense tbh
and if gradiant didnt have to go to work i doubt it would have placated him for long
I lost sight of a golden rule while playing, keep it simple. When in doubt, err on the side of ignorance
knowing too much is an antitown trait
2 times I revealed i knew too much information
1) mantis green check
2) figuring out DBP's claim
i suppose that the 3rd time was simply too much for dbp to suspend his disbelief any longer
compared to sanz, who played the whole game with a town mindset building up information as he went, i came in and was probably too sharp
showing little progression for my reads probably didnt help
DBP also ignored my attempt to muddy the waters by calling his logic into question
good job by him there. if you have a hard read on a wolf, theres no need to engage them and invite them to muddy your thought processes(edited)
as a vigi that is
you keep you logic close to your chest, explaining only for towns benefit (not that of the target), then you shoot them and own up to it
all my anger and disbelief was faked in thread ofc
the only time i actually felt annoyed all day today was when wv self voted, but even that was not the WORST decision in the world, the writing was on the wall tbh
depending on your viewpoint, you might actually call that a good decision

so if your reading this well done WV and blind, you made the best of your circumstances and played well
to DBP and gradiant, well played. you showed why your great at this game and how powerful a tool experience is
im paticularly impressed by gradiant, despite what i said earlier you evened out your temperment from the last time i played with you and showed yourself very slow to judge a situation on the surface level which tbh was the only flaw i thought i could exploit from an otherwise solid player
i could roleblock dbp here and i ackwoledge that option, but functionally that serves no point but to waste time

yeah i dont really regret anything except for that ill made bid at towncred by introducing tangental information when it was absolutely not needed.
gradiant was right on the money with his response to it and i was kicking myself as i read it
all i could do at that point was do damage control. I think i explained it away fine but the damage was done already
dbp saw something there that pointed to wolf and showed a conviction to his read that i dont see often enough on this site.
this is all assuming he shoots me of course
although after all that posturing in thread if he decides to shoot sanz for some reason, ill have to apologize to wv because i will heavily attribute that to WV doing the hairbrained play of ending the day early and throwing a wrench in dbp's plan
but i dont think dbp kills sanz here
i can hope of course, being a wolf who wants to win the game but i dont think its going to happen

Good game. I made a fatal error near the end and got punished for it appropriately.

The decision to let DBP shoot was due to the fact that had we blocked him that night, he would have a shot to prevent us from winning by parity the next night. This is bad because:

1) I thought WV would be claiming doctor the next day so DBP would kill him if he won the thunderdome.

2) DBP killing the next night would be from a smaller pool of players, and therefore more likely to hit a wolf, especially if opkiller dies as the lynch.

Curious to know why dbp didnt shoot however

Freezin, I think you missed an oppprtunity to win the game when you guys wolfed roundbox. He had a d1 post tinfoiling a possible in game vigi. You coulda pushed this into a D1 too much info narrative that I might have suppprted.

When I died my wolfteam was blind, wv, and roundbox due to it.

it was probably a better idea to have WV CC gradiant in that situation if i chose not to block DBP because thats where the payoff is for the option i chose (Letting DBP shoot early so a CC from WV could happen without fear of a retaliation vigi shot)

but DBP's 2 min claim thing kind of threw a wrench in that, plus i was not confident WV could out-argue gradiant and convince town he was the real doctor, especially since he had been and was busy almost the entire game.

We sort of got painted into a corner in that regard

a claim WITHOUT a counterclaim gives a 66% chance of lynching a wolf

Wv and blind were probably going down, I think you coulda had an interesting f3 with roundbox as the person you. Needed to fight

thats on me as well, i didnt do another reread of the early game once i joined, so i missed that.

Just lots of plans that didnt work out quite right, and opportunities that were missed

Unrelated note, i forgot how much i fucking dislike isoing people by post, so dont ever expect that again regardless of alignment.

yeah i knew that math, but thats factoring things as equal.

WV had no thread presence at all and gradiant was perfectly capable of being persuasive and convincing people to see things his way.

maybe i just had too much respect for gradiants abilities in that situation and tried to play too safe. Maybe the right play was to push ahead with the CC because it seemed like you had some doubts regarding gradiant that were cleared up. (though i didnt really understand why. another area to work on my play i guess is to try to get a better read on peoples opinions on others)
