RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: TWC, Everyone Else... Everyone Else,

I concur. We're both interested in TWG, but with this rule in place we're not both able to play regularly. We also both played in the last jTWG, and, though I understand the vast difference between TWG and jTWG, it didn't alter our gameplay. In fact, we probably spent about ten minutes in total discussing it in person, and that wasn't anything more than what we would have discussed on AIM.

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: TWC, Everyone Else... Everyone Else,

*shrugs* TWC will discuss it after this TWG. As of now, those members of TWC who I have talked to about it feel that only 1 of the 2 should play.

PS - In a past game where I was the center of an alliance.... nForcer was one of the blues, Neon was another... and early on I did not tell each of them that the other was a blue. BOTH of them came to me and was like "at school today, nForcer/Neon was acting different than normal in regards to TWG. I think they are a wolf." Now, I found this funny, as they were both blues, and that is why they were acting odd, but the fact remains, in the little interaction the two of them had at school, they found out that each other were not green.

And because of that, I for one am perfectly content not allowing people who have daily contact with each other to play in the same TWG. Fish vs Rai/Mead is different, as they've met once, don't do to school together, don't see each other regularly at all. It'd be like me playing with Mal. We both live in NYC... never met, but we easily could.
      RIP

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: TWC, Everyone Else... Everyone Else,

It didn't take but two seconds for Amanda to find out I was a mason or for me to see that she was one on BOTH occasions that we played together and found things out just by being on or around the other's computer.

We were never open about our roles to each other, in fact, we both played the other quite nicely at some point. So, it's not that we're afraid that y'all will just tell each other your role, it's that having face-to-face interaction with someone gives you an advantage over everyone else and that ANY time on someone else's computer could be disastrous for that person.

I almost want the 5 of us to respond like that Quintesson guy in one post... sorry for a stupid post in this thread, but I found the idea incredibly funny, and yes althoguh I understand your point, guido and tass summed it up very nicely. I am willing to try it one more time on jTWG if this will be a recurring problem and for the 2 of you to give an honest evaluation afterwards.. .but for this game, I wouldn't want it.
          but for now... postCount++

I just think there should be a jTWG again so I can get practice before I start playing.

Re: TWC, Everyone Else... Everyone Else, TWC

A new age of TWG has begun with wackier roles and even more ballsy strategies.

I have no idea who is on the TWC (blah, tass, kilga, LD, guido?) but I know that other than kilga, none of them are playing TWG at a regular pace to keep watch over the minute details of things that continue on in the game.

I know that tass is busy, probably would do TWC stuff if asked, but his focus is elsewhere. Other members were egged on by tass' antics since he pretty much ran the show.

I want to put up the idea of electing a new TWC, since people do not go to the original TWC with problems. Some of the upcoming players probably don't even know one exists for them to come to.

People like myself, fish, stoic, and disco are so involved with the game that we could easily keep up with details that come up in a game.

And people like fish, talisman, kilga, and afro have been around long enough to see a huge variety of games and how they are played.

It just seems that the current committee is no more and would be out of touch with current twg practices to pass judgement, make a ruling, or enforce a rule should their aid be needed.

Re: TWC, Everyone Else... Everyone Else, TWC

I wouldn't mind seeing a new TWC elected, but to be honest I don't really see the need for one.

The general ruling as of late (from what I've gathered) is that a vote determines anything. If people will host, what game we'll play, if jTWG should be brought back. The catch is, in these events the repercussions of someone not liking the outcome are not too bad; they can choose not to play in the game, or choose not to play jtwg/read it, whatever.

Though, If ever a situation arises that a ruling is needed, and an unbiased one at that, a new TWC surely would not hurt. My vote is for electing new members. Rephrase: My vote is for electing new members but at least one of them has to have mod powers.

I was in favor it before, but I don't think there's really a need anymore. Things are working fine.

We should just continue with the current game's host making any needed immediate decisions regarding the game, and leave other things (that is, rulings which would apply to multiple games, such as changes to rules about phantoms or things like that) to an open vote.

The only reason I brought it up was because there were two instances where a ruling was needed (one in TWG and in jTWG) and I pointed them to the TWC but thought to myself, "They may have no idea who is on there, and when they do figure it out, they have to tell everything they said to me to another member.

You're right though, for the most part it isn't needed but there should be at least one active person to give rulings for these cases. (won't say what they involve until both games have ended as they would essentially break each respective game up)

Well, there is. The host of that game should be competent enough that they should be able to handle making a ruling on whatever issue is going on. If they're not competent enough to do this, why are they even hosting in the first place? There are two reasons why a real person is needed to host a game:

#1: Make critical decisions if something goes awry.
                          #2: Write the story.

If the only function they can facilitate is the story writing, maybe they should team up with someone else and just write the story while the other person handles the actual hosting.

That does sound reasonable. Both cases I referred to earlier were handled by the judgement of the host ultimately. (With input from other third parties and interviews with the players in question).

Sounds good, just wanted to get it formally resolved so I know who has the final say on such matters.

If we think it's necessary, I'll do what I can to aid the thread, as I always have. My only real issue with everything is the fact that I've had to bother people that barely (or don't) read TWG anymore to get the appropriate threads stickied and un-stickied for the last 5 games or so with it being done incorrectly a couple times. I've had to bug guido a couple times, and a few other people that barely know who I am. Sure, it's no monumental task for them to do, but I feel bad bringing people that hardly care over to do our menial tasks for the sake of cleanliness and clarity alone. I've approached multiple people about contacting synth and I've tried PMing him and writing him a profile message, but it has yielded nothing so far. I would be fully satisfied if we just had a person or three with local mod powers to take care of maintenance type stuff. If there is desire to extend this to a five person council as before, I'd certainly agree to it.

Ha. I sent a pm to synth three or four days ago and asked him to give one of a select handful of people local mod powers, but he hasn't responded.
