hey so how do player signups work again?

I'm considering doing a lottery, where if more than 13 people have signed up to play 24 hours after signups open, I would random.org among all entrants for the finalized roster. does that sound ok?

13 players... do we want to run two games?

that's kind of the point to begin with, but weighting it in any way would either be arbitrary (definitely bad) or probably complicated (unnecessary imo)

if anyone misses out then we could run a second game based on how many extras there are, maybe??? I'd be quite down to see another rendition of fojar's 4-player setup

whatever gets more new people in. Like, i'd be willing to sit out and watch a game if there is a newbie who wants in if you stay at 13 peeps or whatever.

@xiz: anyone can at first sign up and then opt out (or switch to substitute status) in favor of letting someone else play. that's always been a thing I think.

@ymia: I haven't seen evidence that we have a requisite number of newer players who want to play in a new-player-only game. if you wanna try your hand at recruiting, though, definitely go for it!
