No. You have to trust that it was activated or not. Roles can be activated without consent so if you get a psychic role on d1 - a passive role - and you forget to talk to the player who activates roles for you, you may get psychic results the following day phase if he activated the role for you despite not having spoken with you or knowing what role you had. This is good in some cases, bad in others.
Yes. You get a name and a role at the beginning of the phase. You get a new role every day phase.
