ok so I'm probably not stepping the full version of P8107. That would be WAY too repetitive.

slang for shoot 'em up. a pretty broad category reffering to the need to shoot something in order to win.

in the case of touhou its sort of similar to the top-scrolling arcade shooters, except not.

no shmups dont have a specific type of music, really.

Just listen to the touhou soundtrack. It's in the touhou project thread in the simfile board.
Regardless of how much you care I think you will be able to enjoy it.

I agree, originality is what makes ffr really good.

But when you have someone like rebirth stepping tons of commonly known SHARPNEL OF ALL PEOPLE songs with the repetitive 16th stream based simfile method it kinda takes ffr down a notch IMO.

I'm just talking stuff like smiley, sharpnel, etc that are known to make songs that are primarily 16th stream stuff and are common in the SM community. I'd just like to see more unique files. Your tgwp was awesome. Nothing THAT unique though.

Among the authors you listed, there are tons more good songs to step than stuff that's already been popularized on SM. You're mostly using stuff that's already been popularized on SM.
