I actually have a separate article independent of this book that I'm trying to submit to some news outlet in the vein of "the trolls among us" by Mattathias Schwartz

it goes balls deep into the nerdiness of music games

it just occurred to me how nerdy we are when, in a few thousand words, I tried to start from assuming I'm speaking to a layperson who doesn't know what music games even are to reaching the point where you could understand how a bunch of people could get passionate about whether the kick note should stay for the whole song because otherwise it might be overlayered/objectivemanias
