Now that we are at the halfway point (before decision making day comes around), I have a good sense of what we may need. Thanks to all the people who have applied already. I've noticed we are a bit scarce on the pad chart creators. If you have been a part of numerous pad packs, or just have skill in creating great pad charts, don't be afraid to apply! Anyone who can create difficult index charts as well are needed. Good luck!

Well, this sounds good for me -- I can pump them out like no tomorrow, both singles and doubles for ITG and PIU.
If you're looking for more people in this particular community:
Kommisar also knows how to step for ITG, as does Gundam-Dude and Patashu (not sure if they applied). ~Zero~ hasn't stepped into this thread, but he's also a fairly strong ITG stepartist as well. Oni-Paranoia can step ITG (singles/doubles) and PIU (singles, not sure about doubles) too.
Thanks for the heads up Halogen, I just see a lot of spread chart packs being named as notable packs, but I haven't seen many pad packs being a part of many people's resumes. If people who have already applied can step pad as well, then we should be set. It does help that we have people who step PIU singles/doubles as well.
I think all we really have is a shortage of solid index steppers. I have many applicants who can step them, but is there anyone who is very reputable and is distinctly known to step index?
Also, the turnout is great. It's not too big of a group, and the people who did apply are very credible for the most part. We are still accepting applicants, and at this rate, we are going to have a well rounded foundation for this project to take off.
Be very wary who you allow to step PIU singles and doubles charts for. I've had experiences of playing hacked simfiles on a hacked CD for PIU (older versions, not Pro), and a lot of the charts were atrocious. Better safe than sorry.
Many pad step-artists can create great index charts as well, since one of the foundations of pad stepping is to be able to have good pattern flow.
That's why none of this is set in stone. If the PIU files are very "atrocious," I don't plan to have that style stepped by that person. For everyone that ends up being a part of this project, it's going to be just as new to me as it is for you. I don't plan to "control" this project, only run it. I'm going to rely heavily on the constructed criticism of the people involved.
Either way, it's still a fantastic idea and I hope the team you build makes your project a success. It would be nice to see all of the members of the SM communities come together since a lot of players are broken off into their own areas...

I HATE to sound cheesy but, this isn't my project at all. This is our project. I only provide the guidance and steps, you guys are doing the work. Which is why, at the end of the day, you guys will reap most of the rewards.
I hate using these metaphors. Will Thursday just come already?? I need everyone to apply so we can just get the decisions going! LOL
since i started playing beats(mobile port of stepmania) ive been making a decent amount of index charts. while i wouldnt say im amazing at index chart making i have made my fair share
Nice. Seems that we have the main areas (index, spread, solo, pad[DDR, ITG, AND PIU]) covered. Not that there isn't space for applicants. The more applicants, the better.
At this point, I'm ready to start making decisions. Once the full week passes, I plan to start going over the applicants with the other admin from smo.eu and adding the people. Expect an update from me Thursday/Friday.
Last thing I want to stress is for this project to work, we need artwork in each simfile. Make sure you have your resources, and make sure they are reliable. I'd hate to slow down the momentum of this project because of being unprepared.
Thanks again to everyone who has the confidence in this project as much as I do. I wish us all luck. This may be the lucky break SMO was looking for.
Update: Dutch_com and I have made decisions already, and most of the people who applied have been looked at. Some quick pointers:
-There are 2 slots left (not necessarily going to both be filled). If you still want to apply, you are free to.
-We are awaiting a reply from MetzgerSM. Anyone want to let him know? When and if he responds, he will be looked at first. He has applied early, so anyone who applies after won't have first priority.
-Everyone who was accepted was sent a PM in their SMO user inbox. Please read this as soon as possible.
I am also asking a huge favor. If you applied and weren't accepted, please don't hold a grudge. I rejected a friend, and accepted people I couldn't care less for. I didn't put any personal opinion into the basis of my decisions along side Dutch_com. I also want to stress that the players will have a big role in this, not just the project people. So please don't spam here, in any form, out of disapproval. Also, this isn't my forum, but if I catch anyone spamming on stepmaniaonline.eu in any way, shape or form (Server, Forum, PM's, etc.) I'm going to have very little to zero tolerance. I really don't like banning over ignorance, so be considerate of the decisions made. Remember, if you weren't accepted now, it doesn't mean you won't be a part of it in the future.
Congrats to those who were accepted. Be sure to read your PM's.
