I knew this wouldn't be easy haha. It's only been an hour and yet a third edit.

I've noticed already that people who are applying have others as resources for banners and backgrounds. I need people to keep in mind that if some of their artwork resources are applying to this project, then they may not have them as a resource anymore, because they'll be making their own banners and such.

Person A's Banner and Background Resource-> Person B

Person B's Banner and Background Resource-> Self

If both are a part of this project, Person A shouldn't count on Person B for banners and background art. This being said, I suggest that you list multiple resources if you don't make your own artwork, especially people who don't step but are very artistic.

You (as in Detrimentalist) can send a second PM if necessary. Title it with the same subject, but add a 2 at the end so I can differentiate.

Now that everyone knows the updates, applications should run a bit smoother.

On a serious note though, we have 9 applicants so far, and it hasn't been a whole day. Seeing that not many players actually step files, I'm glad to see the community stepping in (no pun intended) to be a part of this. The way this is setup, as long as people who are involved enjoy this game (the simfile creators and the players) then this project should turn out to be huge.

We all know who's a good stepper and who isn't, but this project will definitely need resources for artwork (to avoid legal issues). But yea, as long as I can have your word that you will have resources, I can put you in the list of people we need to decide on in about a week.

In my opinion, this is something any simfile artist with skill can be a part of. But the people who have been around longer and have put much effort into SMO (veterans) definitely deserve first dibs. We will be looking at many aspects of applicants, but the purpose is to give back to the community. If I were to weigh the the importance of each aspect, I'd have to say 70% seniority/devotion to SMO and simfile making in general, and 30% level of skill. It may seem unbalanced, but people who have been around tend to be skilled steppers in general, so the less experience you have, the more you'll need to show to keep up with the veterans. So it's up to you Patashu. You have about 6 days before we even begin to consider people.

Also, I received a PM regarding specific details. If you aren't sure yet, most of the details aren't available. This project will be handling a delicate system I created that if mistreated, can result in legal issues. It is perfectly legal as it stands, but the more information that is released, the more questions that will want to be answered. In the end, most of the behind-the-scenes details will only be available to the accepted members for their security. This service will be a huge benefit to the SMO community, whether you give to it, or you enjoy what others are giving.

You'll just have to take my word for it at this point.

legal issues does this include song choice as well? on a free to play game?
