It's not an ideal situation when you're playing keyboard Stepmania, and the phrase "I can't wait to see your next moves!" appears directly above my song selection wheel. I'd want to kill myself everytime I choose another song.

i picked the second because it looks better imo

yk13, those pics of shakesoda's theme are not a good representation of how it will look when completed. There's been a debate on stepmania.com about the aesthetics of themes, and I had proposed merging the look of shakesoda's Optical theme (#2) with the functionality of Danford's default theme (#1). You'll definitely get functionality either way, which is why this poll is about purely appearance.

I don't like either of the two. To me, they seem "generic". I don't really have any actual ideas to how I want SM4 to look like, but I can say one thing: I don't like either one of the choices.

EDIT: Well, on second glance, I think the first one is rather clean. I like the first one.

based on the screenshots though im glad i voted for it. although it ilooks alot simpler than i would like a theme to be its nice

color scheme is a little bleh though

If I would vote based on appearance, I'd vote for the second one as it looks less influenced by a Japanese dancing game.
