A change can occur from 0 bpm. Why couldn't it? 0 is no different than 1, or 2 or 3, or 600. If a change can occur from 60 bpm to 200 bpm, a change can occur from 0 bpm to 100 bbm, or any number. Just because 0 bpm means that nothing is moving doesn't mean that time isn't elapsing. For however long the arrows aren't moving, the BPM is 0. If you can prove that when the arrows aren't moving, that it is anything other than 0 beats in a minute, I would sure as hell like to see.

edit: Sure, no stops, I'm just trying to clarify, so don't mind us.

He is posting random crap, offtopicly saying "Can a song go to 0 BPM" which you can't because nothing would happen. And won't stop posting crap and PMing me.

If you can't support your side of the argument, don't say anything. Claiming that I don't make any sense is only pointing out your own ignorance. Also, I almost spelled out that I'm not trying to pick a fight, but merely clarify something.

Unknown, I never PM'd you. Please fail less.

                Re: Trivia!!!!! Slowest DDR Song!!!!!

As a musician I can confidently say that a song can not go to 0 bpm unless you want it to end forever (in computer terms). I suppose you could do it in a live band, but it would be really idiotic to call a stop a 0bpm part of the song, its just non sensical. As for sm, I can guarantee that a stop is not calculated as 0bpm for a certain amount of time. If you were to go in to sm, and put a 0 bpm marker somewhere, you would never EVER be able to start the song back up again. You could put the 0bpm there and then put like 5000000000 bpm on the 256th note right after it, but because it is 0, it will never EVER reach that 256th note Therefore, putting zero there doesnt/wouldnt work. A stop basically freezes the scrolling of the stepchart for the alloted amount of time.

Rofl, Silence isn't even arguably 0 BPM. And the reason it is impossible to do in SM is due to the many limitations. I'm aware 2 bpm's can't go in the same spot, but thats precisely why stops were created. so that there can be a 0 bpm part with the ability to start back up.

                      Re: Trivia!!!!! Slowest DDR Song!!!!!

I dont see how somebody can not understand the difference between 0 bpm and a program stopping a scroll rate.

You could possibly argue that when there is no sound in a song that it is at zero bpm right?... WRONG! How would the band know when to start again. They know this by counting the number of beats that they will not play music.. to count these beats, they have a certain bpm to count by, there fore not 0 bpm.

Technically zero bpm does not even exist, because no song can be played at 0 bpm. a theoretical 0 bpm song would just be silence in the litteral sense, since no beats would ever be played.

I just like how people are pointing out that due to a limitation of the program they are using, that the objective laws of the universe must be the same as the limitation of the program they are using.

Edit: More precisely: "The hard-coded way songs are stepped for FFR/SM etc precludes a hard-coded tempo of 0 bpm" is not the same thing as "It is impossible for there to be 0bpm in a song"

No, see I am pointing out the 2 reasons as to why 0 bpm is impossible. If you logically think about it, you CAN NOT have a song go 0 bpm. Its just not possible.

Edit: That is unless the song does not use BPM of any sort, and is somehow based on time. Then technically, if you have one full minute of silence, then you have 0 bpm for that minute (since bpm stands for beats per minute). But the problem there is that when you say Beats Per Minute, it is assumed that the beats are constant. Just because you have 1 note within a 1 minute interval, doesnt make it 1 bpm. Do you understand what I mean?

first of all, ask yourself, do you know what BPM is? its beat per minute, so if the song stops in SM as a "hold" its not 0 BPM, if its 0 beats in 1 minute its 0 BPM, but then again it wouldnt be any song, caus there is no beats... i can say this with 100% certainty that no song can be 0 BPM due to the fact that BPM is the rythem in a song

You cannot have 0 BPM. This would be called a stop. Try it on SM.

                                Shut up.
