for whatever reason, we have serious issues with sending out emails... they get blocked hardcore by many free email services. which is why the daily email reports were stopped.

and, if we did do something like this... it'd be no more than monthy. and it would recap new stuff briefly from the past, since the last one... and maybe tease something from the future. it wouldn't be that exciting. and would be 1 page. maybe 2-3 stories. and i'd probably wind up being the one who would have to do it, and it doesn't appeal to me at all.

It doesn't appeal to you because you don't like updating period. :P Just joking.

In all seriousness though, I like this idea,whether a staff member does this or you get someone else to. Something I said in a thread a while back was pleading for more updates from the staff. I understand that they are busy and everything, but asking for an update once a week or two MAX doesn't seem too much to ask, or just anything more than the current rate of updates going now. We had a period of 2 and a half weeks where there were 6(HOLY CRAP) posts/updates on the front page. Sincle the Mapus thing was released on July 17th, however, 3 front page updates, and that's if you include that post. I'm not asking for as many as were being posted...just more than the currecnt rate.

I don't so much want to know every single little detail going on, but one front page post a week or 2 doesn't seem too much to ask. If nothing is going on, then say nothing is going on, and then make some joke out of it. I just would love to see more front page updates.

EDIT: Ok asking for one a week may be a bit much. But once every 2 is definitely not asking too much...and we just go through too many periods of absolutely no word from the staff. That's where I get frustrated.

People will just complain how informationless it is.

Just like how people complain about how stingy the current homepage news is. (XPLAN DA BETA RLS DEELAY WTF U DOIN STAF) deal.

They announce what is necessary/information available for publicizing on the homepage.

Tass, it does't appeal to you because you foresee yourself being the one to put so much effort into it. Well, don't be. The aspect you're looking at it from is only a negative one. Look at it from one that does not involve any work from you.

Midday, it wouldn't be something that cluttered up your email. It wouldn't be subby based. It'd be based on subscribing via me. This, just so Tass sees it too, assures that it doesn't get blocked by any email, since the people would have to PM me telling me that they would like to subscribe to the newsletter.

Everyone else, I messaged the admins (with the exclusion of Tass because I knew he'd say something like that). When I hear back I'll let you know. I'll hit up LD later on IM.

EDIT: After reading the other edits I decided to make an edit. But, yeah, a bi-monthly newsletter is very doable. And reasonable.

If Tass does not like the idea of doing the newspaper himself, look into "hiring" a few members who have experience in newspaper; preferably city newspaper or school newsletter.

as far as the homepage.... just be glad this isn't 2004-2005 still. there were MANY times where it would go 2-3 months without an update on the front page.

you guys have gotten spoiled by my nearly daily updates for many months. i just don't really have anything to post about. sorry. expect something this weekend though.

I do think I will. After i qrap a few things up, since I'm getting about 3 hourse a sleep a night, I'll start working on the newsletter. I'll look into finding some people who'd like to be interested in it. Even if it's not official, it'll be cool and people will like it. And hey, isn't that what matters?
