Just seeing the top players of each region isn't a problem Pop. It's the fact that some people will not be happy with what they're ranked so they'll change their region.

If you moved ... well, perhaps limit a change in region to once. If not, then having people stuck in a previous region when they move is better than mass chaos with members changing regions like crazy.

North and South CA have their own sections, but Canada is just one big region?

Both California and Canada have about 30 million people. Maybe make an eastern and western canada? Ontario and east, Manitoba and west? The very large ontario population is balanced out by the fact that I'm quite sure a very large BC contingent also plays.

yes i agree canada should be seperated into east and west. east from ontario on to the eastern edge and west everything else

I guess so...but how many people would actually do that?

Those high enough in the standings should be happy with where they are, like you're saying, but those lower in the standings probably wouldn't mind all that much. Even if a few really feel obligated enough to change regions simply based on the fact that they don't like their rank, it probably wouldn't affect the standings too much anyway.

But if, say, DS or Shash or JX or any other high-ranked player moved (just an example), and the regions were permanent, that could also affect the standings, since he/she wouldn't be one of the top players in that region anymore, but would be in a different region.

Also, if some other person moved, probably not too many others are going to move at the same time, so only one or a few more might shift around the same time there. I was just referring to the occasional times where that might happen, so that those few people could change and it wouldn't be too much a problem.

Sorry, not trying to spark a debate or complicate this, just offering a thought.

Uhhh ... no Pop, hundreds of users would want to change regions if they felt they were ranked too low. Even more (probably in the thousands) would change just to compare their rank with different regions.

Get rid of New England. Call it Northeast and include NY. NY is not part of the mid-atlantic region; geographically, it makes zero sense.

Maybe make your rank a fraction, such as...22/40, so you know how many people you're better than, not just how many people are better than you

Well Xception, I think it's working fine right now, not a lot of change going on, and it should be fine when the top 50/100 rankings come out.
