Try not playing FFR to reduce lag. Once I stopped playing FFR it reduced virtually all lag to none.

I remember someone making a note of changing the processor's affinity to a single-core a long time back, but I don't remember there being definitive proof for it (I think I tried it when you were over at our apartment last, before we left).

It does help depending on the pc that you're using. I remember on my older pc that was similar to krunky's build, I did that and it helped out quite a bit; however, it did not alleviate the problem completely.

Flash 9 + Velo for me is pulling the same 100% CPU consumption crap it pulled at some point during the last tourney as well. Flash 10 and 11 don't work well for me so that doesn't fix anything.

Only started two days ago, but pretty annoying.

oh god is it really starting again. i havent played since the start of the round, but round 3 is when it started pulling this lag for me last tournament, and unplayable laggy engine + chart i absolutely hate (press start) = quit tourney on the spot haha

r^3 works fine for me, but velocity is a joke ATM. I'd rather not be forced to play on r^3 next round.

I have an Intel i7 and 16GB of RAM and it lags for me sometimes too, so I'm going to guess it isn't your hardware.

Yeah, I don't think it's my hardware at all :/

I just wish It would get fixed like asap >.> it's costly for an official to have laggy engines.

The lag started for me about 2 days ago, as well.

I usually play using the Velocity engine on the Flash 9 standalone. Try playing FFRAnotherWay on Flash 8. That's fixed it for me.

My Velo started lagging about 3 days ago. I had to resort to using R^2 on FP9. After spending a few days experimenting with settings, i finally got to the point where I'm probably doing 90% of what i was capable in velo, maybe even a little better on the lower end files. Still having issues with really dense patterns since i have to read a new noteskin but hopefully that improves :/.

Try switching to FP 10, I have the same problem on 9. It started lagging for me two days ago too, by the way.

You're not alone my game was running smoothly until 3 days ago too. If I had to get a score right now for the tournament I'd be in serious trouble and that's not cool..

I'm also a bit confused how we have 3000+ people playing FFR right now. We even had 13k users at one point. Is the number of people online accurate and can it impact lag on the game? ..because it feels like it's general lag from server-side this time.

im fairly certain that a high number of users currently playing ffr at any given time will not produce lag on the end of the players, seeing as everything is preloaded prior to playing any song. if anything, it would take longer to preload the song you are trying to play, or login.
