No one likes metal songs because they're to long and annoying to aaa.

Another case of you mistaking everyone for yourself. There are quite a few people, including myself that enjoy both long files, and Dore's files. If a song is good, (i.e. Protest the Hero, to me) I have no problem playing through a long song.

Don't we have Disturbed blanket? I remember Synth posting about that on the front page a long time ago. It's why we have Inside The Fire. :/

Only really big obstacle I see is because now that they've "made it", getting the raw sound files for stepping is a bitch.

Or OGGs if you use Mac, but yeah. Unless you're super-experienced or you just don't give a damn about difficulty, a simfile isn't something you can just knock out in an afternoon, either.

so I actually read the OP: if you wanna play stuff like that, then go download Stepmania whatever version, and download the Astronomical Metal Packs. There's two.

I'm gonna be a nazi.

We only have 2 "real" big metal band permissions, from what I know, and not even sure with the second one. Protest is more metalcore.

We have blanket permission from Ensiferum, which is in the ranks of Norther and Wintersun (in fact that's the bandmembers/ex bandmembers's ex projects). We talk about millions of albums sold I believe, and it's pretty damn metal.

More obviously is Children of Bodom, but we don't really know wtf is up with their permission. Also their recent stuff is more metalcore by now, but the early material is metal too!

I "might" also let pass All Shall Perish. It *does* have a few Death Metal influences. See Eradication and see for yourself.

Not saying nothing else on FFR is metal, but as far as major label of highly commercial bands, that's pretty much all I can think of...

All Rise bands, Between the Buried and Me, August Burns Red, Memphis May Fire etc. We have a lot of permission for metal-like bands. Just no one steps them because they have long and/or repetitive songs.
